Unusual wedding

Why is it "unusual"?

And why does Simon345 disagree with it? What's it got to do with you?

Petewood asked what peoples thoughts are, and that happens to be my opinion.

Yep, and now I am advancing the conversation, and asking why you think your thoughts, why you disagree with it.

It's 'unusual' because it is unnatural - millions of years of evolution has decreed this and no matter how much people shout about their rights it will never be natural. We could not have evolved if normality was homosexuality.

If people want to have relationships with members of the same sex then so what but why does there have to be a fanfare about it? Why have 'Gay Pride' rallies, we don't have straight rallies. Why, if it is quite normal, is the word homosexual not used? Why hide behind euphemisms whilst corrupting the English language at the same time?

OK, what about if evolution in the here-and-now has decreed that it does not want these people to breed? After all, the world is over-populated as it is. If we place animals in a controlled environment and restrict the basics of life (air, water, food, space, mates etc) why is it some exhibit homosexual behaviour?

Well, homosexuality has been seen as wrong, homosexuals say it isn't. It's political.
You only say it's corrupting the language because you say homosexuality is wrong. It is debatable if it is wrong or not.

what is natural or unatural is clearly a cultural argument, ie what's one's cup of tea is anothers.....

Homosexuality is a personal preference it is however not and never will be the "norm". Whilst that remains so there will always be a number of perfectly regular people who do not and cannot understand or accept it as normal behaviour.
Saying all that I would also say I would not agree with anyone persecuting someone because of their life choices. My children will be given the facts so they grow up as rounded individuals not bigots - they will however not be taught by me that homosexuality is "normal" behaviour just that it exists and has a place in the world

it was very telling to see members of the church outside spoiling their special day.

No, I say it is corrupting the English language by changing the meaning of words.

Why do you feel this way dg123 - why not live and let live?
Is it because you think that what homosexuals do sexually is 'unnatural' - because if thats the case I could write a book about so called heterosexuals sexual practices - which on the whole are more 'deviant' than sexual activities undertaken by homosexuals.
On occasions same sex animals engage in sexual activity - and we are also animals.
Interestingly, a high percentage of people who are in prison engage in same sex relationships for the time they are 'inside'

Research also suggests that almost 14% of people have had a gay or lesbian experience at sometime in their lives

IMO I would say it's about being 'different'........thats all.
Why shouldn't someone who loves someone, who's been in a long term relationship not have the same rights as me.............it's great news in relation to equality.......it's new and topical thats why there's a fanfare at the moment.

I work in the NHS and a significant part of my work is involved in working within the gay community...........you are quite wrong dg123 when you say that the word homosexual isn't used..........it is used frequently right across the board within the statuatory and non statuatory agencies

In relation to the 'gay rallies' Manchester Pride over the August bank holiday - as well as having a good time it's all about raising 10's of 1000's for HIV services and charities accross Greater Manchester - without this massive fundraising effort the charities wouldn't survive.

One man's meat is another man's pleasure. So they tell me.

I think you need to re-read my post - why do I feel like what? From what in my post do you draw your elevated inferences? I have no interest in others' sexual practises so why should they be advertised?

If your children are programmed to be gay - then that's what they'll be. Your opinion won't come into it

Never said it would (despite your ridiculous choice of phrase) - just said they would be given the facts. If they are happy well rounded individuals then I will be happy with that whatever they choose elsewhere in their life. Do you have children Joe?

Just won't ever accept its normal behaviour that will always be my own opinion
