Why have 'Gay Pride' rallies, we don't have straight rallies. Why, if it is quite normal, is the word homosexual not used? Why hide behind euphemisms whilst corrupting the English language at the same time?

Dunno. Perhaps you could tell us, as you chose to use the word "straight" rather than "heterosexual".

I think they have these rallies to show they are normal people like you and me.

Seems odd to dress the way that a lot of them do on those rallies if that's their aim.

That was utterly despicable.

The word gay was itself adopted by the gay community because there were no positive-sounding words for "homosexual". Would you want to be described as "****"? It's not the nicest sounding of words. But "gay" is a happy word.

It seems to have gone some way towards full circle. The LGB society at my uni was called "Imperial ****", for example!

And something that a lot of you can all stop doing is arguing about whether homosexuality is natural or normal.

Is it natural? Of course it is - people do not "become" homosexual, or "choose" to be homosexual, it is the way they are, and it is as natural as being left-handed.

Is it normal? Of course it isn't - the majority of the population are not homosexual, and therefore it is not normal, any more than it is normal to be left-handed.

Did you know that that was illegal until 1994? Homosexual anal sex was legalised (subject to some bizarre age-related rules) in 1967, but heterosexual buggery remained illegal for a further 27 years...

It's the anal sphincter thats most affected.

Damage to the anal canal and rectum isn't really a problem provided care is taken.
