It's how you package it. I am sure it was said by the media with such fondness and sweetness that an 18 year old swept a thirteen year old off her feet. If that happened today and they were poor he would be branded as a paedophile - so times have changed for the better?

You have conflated Prophylactic vaccine with a therapeutic vaccine. A prophylactic vaccine role is to build immunity before you get an infection whilst a therapeutic vaccine is used if you get infected. The work differently.

Lockdowns were meant to reduce the incidence of transmission not to eradicate the virus.

Masks again were meant to reduce the incidence of transmission. It was a simple measure and didn't curtail your freedoms.

If the risk of adverse effects from a vaccine is less than the risk of catching Covid-19 and having non trivial complications, why wouldn't someone?

This is simple mathematics, if you've got a 1 in a million chance of death from Door A and a 1 in 100,000 chance of death from opening door B, what sort of idiot opens Door B (corrected)?

Your posts seem to say you don't think Covid is all that bad....you use the death rate argument as a basis for it.

It is not as bad as made out, is it?
It was supposedly going to kill everyone like AIDS did in the 80s.

But that argument is misleading. Death rate data is the what has happened even though considerable lockdown measures and social distancing has been in place.

The effectiveness of lockdowns is not borne out by the comparison with other places.
Not to mention 'stay home unless you go out' is not effective lockdown.

If you want to argue Covid isn't all that bad....we need to estimate what the death rate would've been if life had carried on as normal.

Let's ask Ferguson, shall we? Or say it would have been the same.

This govt has been opportunistic in its corruption to make money, but that doesn't mean lockdown measures haven't been put in place for good intent. Those 2 positions arent mutually exclusive.

Nope, that's still included in the 1 in 100,000 guestimate. For any individual at the moment the odds of a vaccine causing injury is massively less than the chance of catching Covid-19 and suffering as a result. Th graphic seen earlier showed the crossover point but it assumes a rate of 20 per 100k, rather than the current 35 per 100k.

If the amount of infections in the country drops further then that may change, but it doesn't seem likely in the near future as the virus is increasing at the moment.

You have made an all encompassing statement repeatedly John (if that is your name) that all those who believe the covid is genuine and those accepting the jab - are 'sheeple'.
