VAT on education?

Several posters have stated that the schools in their areas are advertising for pupils. You can't have it both ways.
That's normal competition between market rivals, not an appeal for sufficient numbers due to shortages.

No, they cited falling pupil numbers due to demographic changes. It was in response to claims state schools wouldn't be able to cope with the numbers leaving private education.

Who said state schools wouldn't be able to cope with the additional ex-private students?

Trouble is most of that will go to academies (effectively businesses under business law) who are also allowed to claim VAT free status in certain areas due to 'charitable status'...
What are teachers? The school I went to is now an academy. It also had another iteration before that. That included involvement of what used to be one of the larger UK's manufacturers.

In terms of jobs in schools you might find this interesting

Not entirely correct - some demographic sectors not all. This leads to a falling number of pupils over time as the demographic levels work though the system. Starmer hopes to make use of that to provide more decent nursery places that are well spread around the country. Pretty logical really and it appears there is scope now.

Looked at broadly with no details on why a few state schools are overload by very small nubers. Logically that will be older pupils

Should add stats suggest this will all run through by 2030.

What?
You can't have schools that have high demand and waiting lists and others that are wanting to fill places?

Anyway demand for schools places is down. Something to do with a declining birth rate.

6000 new teachers might be a bit short of pupils to teach.

The birth rate might be declining now, but children don't start school as soon as they're born.

Do you think this might have a tiny little weeny implication:
Class sizes in England’s state secondary schools have ballooned to their largest size for nearly 20 years

Some people don't care about state schools, because they don't use them.

Some people don’t use private schools but recognise that those who do, ease the demand for state schools which helps everyone.
