VAT on education?

You understand those parents of kids with special needs are also subject to the new VAT on their kids' private education?
There are some exceptions to the VAT charge, where fees will remain exempt from VAT.  These are nursery classes and schools that have been approved under section 342 of the Education Act, i.e. non-maintained special schools.  HMRC’s technical note explains that funding will be provided for pupils that are placed in a private school because their needs cannot be accommodated in state sector schools.

I refer you to the original post, its not me attempting to divert.
Which is this original post attempting to divert?
Do you mean this one:
Quite a large group of people sending their kids to private school are doing so, because the state school cannot cope with their educational needs.

I suggest you read the recent posts by me and ajohn, and peruse the official statement.

But the thread is about fee-paying private education for only those that can afford it.
You are persistent in trying to divert the discussion.

perhaps you'd like to peruse Section 342 of the Education Act also.

If they didn’t, suddenly every child would have special education needs.
So you haven't noticed that they don't pay vat or fees? The private sector are probably into more severe cases than a state school can handle but no where near the levels in state special schools but private could also be into providing that level of care.

The hole in it will be the degree of special needs as some with more minor problems tend to manage and or get pills. The main hole will be demonstrating that a child really has special needs and could benefit. In that case it will be funded.

Special needs in general can need specialist teachers. A problem with state schools but indications that they are taking more notice of their pupils in a number of ways. They are generally mental issues so have some teachers that are into that.

Some people are inclined to think all of these sufferers are kiddy winks. They are not, They grow up.

Really the only nonsense is the usual suspects trying to deflect from the labour party grift and snouts in the troughs.

Nonsense.
A number of MP's and higher have always received similar help what ever a party is in power or even not.
What's new - nothing.

A more sinister example

Farage, an MEP for two decades, was docked half his salary last year after being found to have misspent EU funds intended to staff his office. The leader of the liberal group in the parliament, Guy Verhofstadt, has previously claimed that Farage is the biggest waste of the bloc’s resources.

Many parents with kids with special needs choose private education and it’s now going to be subject to VAT where previously it wasn’t.
