Vive La France!

He is not going back on what he said before, surely. Oh yes, he is.

He admitted it NEEDED 2 doctors to approve, sign, say yes, write in their notes, or otherwise accept it was legal to proceed.

The original 1967 Act also says abortion is legal if there is risk to mental health etc.
It doesn’t matter because the 1929 act was still in force and the case law of ([c vs S [1987] EWCA Civ J0225-1). Tested that the 28 week limit was actually the upper limit not the lower limit.

So, it looks like before the 1991 Act the time limit was less certain rather than a hard 28 weeks? That's quite a predicament for the doctor!
Exactly.

At 28 weeks an unborn child is deemed viable but it does not say that an unborn child younger than this is not.

Very risky to proceed if it turns out that the baby could be born alive.

You’ve not shown the law states signing the form is not approval, It’s just your opinion

Neither have you answered what happens if the doctors do not sign ( we all know what happens: no sign = no approval= no abortion)
I have and it does.

Read sec 1 of the abortion act and read the declaration in the form.

I’ve never said 2 doctors need to approve. I have always said they need to give an opinion.

I at least understand the difference between an approval and an opinion.

And that opinion has to be....... agree, approve, accept or it can't go ahead

You've just started serving again

Ah, so you are reading context into the actual words of the law? Interesting...
No I’m putting the actual situation in to context. Not pretending that the law says or means something it doesn’t.

And I backed it up with the statute and the case law. Care to give it a try ?

Statute and state law says abortion can’t go ahead without doctors approval

State law? More nonsense.

If you have statute that says a doctor must approve an application for abortion. Do please share the words.

If doctors only give their opinion, then an abortion can go ahead without the signature.

Oh wait…without 2 doctors signing to approve it, the abortion doesn’t go ahead.

Oh dear MTGs argument is in tatters
