Again Norco, you missed my point.
Look back at what I have said; I eluded to two examples of what
may or may not have gotten up your, or anyone else’s, nose. You don’t have a gripe with Thatcher, that's obvious, and again I say good for you.
I’m not condoning what the miners were like and god knows I can certainly relate to the Austin/Longbridge lazy greedy barstewards. Living nearby, as I do, I knew many of them and what some of them were like!!! (Nuff said). But there were also many who were hard working and
not corrupt, lest you think otherwise.
I guess you believe it’s okay to crack a nut with a sledgehammer then? I may agree with that actually. Sometimes, ‘collateral damage’ and the loss of innocents is an inevitable consequence of winning the war sadly.
I have simply tried to tell you it from my side, as a man who
did suffer under her disgusting policy on child support during the 80’s/90’s, and on behalf of those who
can't tell you here because they are dead! Had you been in my position, you too would have a very different POV on this specific matter; whether you believe that or not.
I wasn’t a miner or making crap cars on twice as much money as they were getting paid.
I was 'just' a decent hard working and conscientious father working for a small company.
Proof you don’t listen/read:
Well its like this. I couldn't afford it. You on the other hand could afford it so you paid up. Thats the difference you see.
I couldn’t “afford it” either Norco, which is precisely why I said..
I couldn't keep my old banger on the road to pick my daughter up at the weekeds and I couldn't even treat her as I used to. And so, for the first time in my life, I elected to become unemployed so you taxpayers could pick up the tab. It was either that or commit suicide like others had done...
Look! I've made my point and I don't care to try and convince you of anything. Someone may Google CSA some time or happen on this forum one day and relate to it in a way you obviously never will. End of...
