Welcome to the party.....

they'd have to clean up their act.

Who would want to support a party where their MEPs fight in the European Parliament and leave each other sprawled on the floor? Or where a member who is paid, and, say, on the Fisheries committee, moans about Fisheries policy but doesn't bother attending his committee's meetings? For three years in a row?

Being paid and not doing the job.

Former soldier and rozzer.

Served his country, which is more than can be said for many.

Would that make him a better leader / politician?

What about those that serve the NHS? Or those that work in the defence contractors supplying the army?

Do you draw the line as to those who are willing to put their lives on the line?

Dunno.

Depends on whether they have the character and skills for the role.

Of no relevance to my post.

Sorry Notch, but was that two fists Prescott, or ham fisted Prescott, or cheats on his wife Prescott that you're referring to. Or might it be let's abolish the Lords, until you give me a title of course Prescott.

But UKIP are a good argument for PR, where the Lib Dems only wanted it because they'll never really get anywhere without it.
Could you provide a supporting argument for the statement?
Or was it just an inflammatory comment?

I think minority parties are good for politics in this country.
I think UKIP will only get anywhere if they move the party away from their RW anti-immigration stance.

They also need to end their single policy approach.
Sometimes, but only sometimes ;), you talk sense.
Although, on this occasion, your subsequent comment is nonsense ;).
How can UKIP jettison their anti-immigration stance and adopt another policy?
Their would be no argument left for them to support their single UKIP policy.

Its was ironic.:)

Its not my fault UKIP would have no argument left

Thats for UKIP to reconcile.

To be a relevant party they need to reform

And I always talk sense. I cant help it if some of those on here cant cope with a different viewpoint.

I get your irony this time.

UKIP's 2017 manifesto called for 'Fair and Balanced Migration'. I'm sure most people would agree with that statement. All Henry Bolton needs to do now is get rid of the extremist 'anti-muslim' rhetoric and UKIP could upset the main party ambitions again if the Tories make a pigs ear of Brexit.

Ah I see, editing what I wrote.

It seems a popular thing to do on here.
 Would you have preferred this:

Perfectly legitimate and acceptable editing to emphasise the bit of your comment to which I was referring.
If you are resorting to such silly allegations, your position and argument must be very tenuous.

If?

But it is a fair comment that you make Doug. It is not the Brexit policy that upsets people about UKIP. It is the adoption of nationalist prejudice, the lies, the misrepresentation of facts, the fake news, not just against Muslims, but against all refugees and immigrants, that attracts some and repels others.

'If you are resorting to such silly allegations, your position and argument must be very tenuous' -yup that concurs with your post

What upset people about UKIP was their success.
