With Tony Blair, love him or hate him, he was a centrist with policies designed to attract votes not just from the centre but the slight right/left, he had mass appeal and was successful because of that. I thought Starmer would oversee a return to those policies but it seems he has a full time job fighting the loony left, unfortunately for him it looks like they might just win the battle.

Yes but the point is they will never regain power again based on 'labour voters', they need to win over Tory voters. Calling them 'scum' is not the way to achieve that.

That kind of language is never acceptable in Parliament. IMO.
They just don't have the talent.
Their abilities don't match their ambitions.
Angela Rayner is local council level but she believes she is national level.

If words do matter then do you think its acceptable the PM lies?
I suspect many would say well, who cares. If the public are more upset at someone calling someone else Scum, but not at the lies, then there we have a perfect example of the state of our country.
Notice that there was no pushback to the comment being inaccurate or untrue but just the term used.
