What are you watching on TV right now?

You have to suspend your belief in the way the world actually works, when he pulls everyone together, to finally identify the culprit. As if the police would ever behave like that.
Well, yeah, it is a tv show after all...did you figure the last whodunnit out ?
I liked the look on the culprit's face when he signed the book of puzzles 'Ludwig'.

Just watched the F1. After the sprint, I thought it was going to be Lando's weekend with Max not reaching Q3 plus a 5 place penalty putting him 17th at the start. I’m not a fan of his but wow, what a race - winning from that position. Looks like it’s all over for Lando now.

Private Ryan. Is there a name for the style of filming where the colour is flattened out, as in the film?

I've seen it before, good film, but neither of us could fathom out the scene where the snipper, is shot by the US snipper through the eye, not that part, but where the little girl, is lowered down, then pulled back up? What was that about? It was all in French, I understand a bit of French, but I could not make out a single word, of what took place.

American sports has many moments through their history, known by snappy names like 'the Catch'; 'The Drive'; in the NFL: 'The Called Shot', and 'The Comeback' in baseball...Michael is a Mets fan, and explained the game on a trip to Shea Stadium to see his beloved Mets. I munched hot dogs and nodded along but never really got it. I can keep up with a game nowadays in the World Series but they can take all night to finish and who has the time?
Nobody left early in Game 7 of the '04 series between the Red Sox and Yankees: an 86 year drought in Boston was on the line. The right to go to the WS hung in the balance - no team had ever come back from a three game deficit in baseball history and after a crushing 11 pt defeat in Game 3, nobody gave the Sox a hope in Hell of victory...what happened next has gone down in Boston lore as 'The Comeback', and even if you don't get the game, you'll appreciate the drama of a story that would make a terrific movie: the kind of movie that never gets made because the ending is too implausible.

It happened for real, and nobody could really believe it.

@Harry Bloomfield The gist as you can probably work out is the Americans are asking the family where the sniper is, the father replies with basically 'they're everywhere you have to take the kids' because of their dire situation (the family) but of course the Americans don't want to do but Vin Diesel (who is the one who gets shot by the sniper) defies his orders and takes her anyway, only to get shot. Once the sniper is dealt with the danger has passed and the girl is reunited with her family, she's slapping him because she's so angry with her father and wanted to stay with her family.

The following is definitely not a 100% accurate transcript, there's at least some missing American dialogue too but it gives the gist:

One of the soldiers: "Thunder, Thunder or we will fire on you."

French man: “Don’t shoot, don’t shoot we’re French.”

Cpt Miller: “Upham tell them to show themselves.”

Upham: “Show yourself”

French man: “We’re not armed. We are civilians. Don’t shoot. Don’t shoot. You must not shoot.”

French woman: “ [inaudible] We must flee”

Cpt Miller: “Ask them if they know where the Germans are”

Upham: “Where are the Germans?”

French man: “It’s not good. They’re everywhere ! Did you come from Ballon? You have to take the kids.”

Cpt Miller: “What’s he saying?”

Upham: “Something about the children”

Little girl: “No !”

Upham (?): “They want us to take the children”

Cpt miller: “No, no, no don’t, can’t take the kids”

Upham: “We can’t take them”

Carpazo comes to take the little girl

Little girl: “No! I don’t wanna go! No! I don’t wanna go!”

Upham: “They won’t be safe!”

Horvat: “Are you nuts, listen to the Captain!”

Upham to the parents: “They won’t be safe with us! You don’t understand! We can’t take them! But no, we can’t take them!”

Horvat or Cpt Miller: “Caparzo! Get your ass back here”

Caparzo: “How do you say it’s okay?”

Caparzo and Miller arguing then Miller take the girl

Cpt Miller: We’re not here to do the decent thing! We’re here to follow ****ing orders! Sarge take this goddamn kid!”

Caparzo gets shot

The parents are calling their child’s name

Little girl crying: “I want mommy ! Mommy”

Jackson warning the other about the sniper ‘s position

The parents scream their daughter name again

Little girl: “Mommy ! Please come get me !”

Horvat: “We’re gonna get you back to your mama and papa, please don’t cry"

Jackson is preparing his gun

French woman: “You have to stay with the Americans !”

French man: “Sweetie, you must not move”

Little girl: “I don’t like those Americans” French man: “Your mother will come get you”

Jackson kills the sniper

Parents: “Sweetie, Sweetie ! Run fast ! Hurry up ! Run Sweetie ! Hurry up !” [They’re saying her name instead of Sweetie but idk what it is]

French man: “Hurry up don’t stay here ! Hurry up !”

Little girl crying and hitting her father: “Why did you do this ! Why why !

French man: “I’m sorry Sweetie, I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I’m sorry !”

I fancy watching that, but I'm not a box-set person.
They are releasing it one episode per week as far as I know. Only episode one has been released so far. Obviously, if you wait until all episodes have been broadcast, you’ll have a…..box-set!
