If it was done under load there would of been an arc , it doesn't make people unprofessional to advise you safely.I went to the property this morning, was chatting to a neighbor who happened to be electrician, had a look and pulled the black wire. People here were saying it’s dangerous. Arcs, explosions and flipping PPEs. Obviously no power now , SSE will be here soon.
So was it just poked in there?I went to the property this morning, was chatting to a neighbor who happened to be electrician, had a look and pulled the black wire. People here were saying it’s dangerous. Arcs, explosions and flipping PPEs. Obviously no power now , SSE will be here soon.
I was going to 'mention' that possible approach. With the main switch of the single CU 'off', there would be no curerent through that link, and hence no risk of arcing, so all that really would be needed would be appropriate PPE (gloves), or ('extreme care/caution'!) to avoid any risk of contact with live conductors.I went to the property this morning, was chatting to a neighbor who happened to be electrician, had a look and pulled the black wire. Would afd rcbo prevent that?Talking about ionisation, View attachment 376206 also called arc flash, want no current flowing and full PPE before touching.
That is true of most forums and -it seems- it is true of your neighbourhood too! This forum is full of Diyers or ppl with no experience at all.
Dont open the freezer door to see if the lobster has defrosted yet! Do let uis know the result, and how long it took the DNO to appear!I went to the property this morning, was chatting to a neighbor who happened to be electrician, had a look and pulled the black wire. Not true but it even if you knew the difference, how can a pro spark form a professional opinion from limited information, inadequate pics and no on site inspection or testing. Forums can be good servants but they are unreliable masters. People seem to think they create a professional relationship when they seek advice or receive an answer without knowing anything about the person answering (and vice versa) and without creating any kind of commercial relationship. This forum is full of Diyers or ppl with no experience at all.

Good question, but I am not inclined to find out. The same applies to SPD and RCD I have had a shock with and without RCD protection and survived both, and both were bad enough to knock me out.Would afd rcbo prevent that?
You should have signed up to freeprofessionaladvicefromqualifiedtradesmen.com. That only has qualified tradesmen that have nothing better to do other than give out advice to people that don’t want to pay for it.This forum is full of Diyers or ppl with no experience at all.

All sorted Fuse changed
Another booking next week to put cover on.
Given that the 'link' wire had seeming been 'pulled out' before they arrived, there was presumably little for them to 'say about', other than to wonder what it was that caused the fuse tio blow (and, unless the previous tenants reveals that, we will presumably never know). So what did they say- and no, I am not a professional electrician, but I am intrigued to find out what they said.
Why wasn't he your first port of call? What would you have said if someone on here told you to just tug it out and you got hold of the live end and was electrocuted.I went to the property this morning, was chatting to a neighbor who happened to be electrician, had a look and pulled the black wire. They probably should really look for a hypothetical freeavicefrompeoplwhoknowwhattheyaretalkingabout.com - since, unfortunately, some "qualified tradesmen" would probably not qualify for that, whereas some people who are not "qualified tradesmen" probably would. You should have signed up to freeprofessionaladvicefromqualifiedtradesmen.com.
