What have you been doing today?

The driver that hit our car blamed it on her reversing alarm not working properly! Mrs Mottie muttered that her bleedin' eyes weren't working properly either.
Well, they probably weren't, if they were bleedin'.....

At least they did that…a lot of people would have just scarpered. Still an inconvenience though for you…
Yeah, true. On a brighter note, I came home to this delivery today (I've blocked her address out). :)

Popped in to a Lidl store today. They were tackling a suspected shoplifter. They were saying "You keep nicking from this store". He was effing and blinding, telling them to get their hands off him, he was going to sue them for assault etc etc. and trying to get out of the store but they took him down like a pack of lions take down a buffalo. Anyway, they bundled him into the bogs, hopefully to explain where he had gone wrong. ;) Almost everyone else in there was going about their business as if it was an everyday occurrence. Mind you I don't think I've been in that place without witnessing a fracas of one sort or another whether it be man and wife, unrelated shoppers or people arguing with the till ladies.

Assault and false imprisonment?

Shoplifting is wrong, but unless you have certain powers, you can't be doing stuff like that...

I go to Lidl and Aldi all the time, and have never seen any shenanigans, but then they are in Wilmslow and Poynton respectively.

Just been on the phone to the insurers of the car that hit ours and they have given me reference numbers to pass on to my chosen repairer. The insurers of the previous car that his it paid me a one-off fee of £250 in lieu of a hire car. These ones will pay £27.50 a day while it's being repaired in lieu of a hire car. We have the Golf as a spare car to use so I'll probably take the payments rather than have the worry of a hire car to look after - we've had two non-fault accidents this month and they do say bad luck come in threes!

On a browner note, I've just taken a stool sample to send off as part of the NHS bowel cancer monitoring programme offered two yearly for those over 60. I tell ya, turds are heavier than they look when you are catching them in a tissue!

When I do my sample, I just shít down the side of the pan and scrape a wee bit off to send away.

On the home run with the tidying up of the new allotment plot. A few more afternoons and I'll be ready to plant out.

Today I did the weekly shop at Lidl to compare against the one I usually do at Sainsbury's. I did well. I got a saw bench, a plasma cutter and a six person tent. I'm going to Sainsbury's later to buy some food.

On a serious note, it was swings and roundabouts on the trolley stakes. My trolley refused to give up my quid when I returned it but in another trolley, I found this:

Today I will mostly be attending the 'auctioning of the kit' of a motorcyclist & musician who I only knew distantly. He wasn't ex military but I'm told he liked the idea of doing something similar to what they do & ensure it all goes to good homes & the £money raised goes where he intended.

It's in a pub, I may spend more £££'s than she would like me to.

Spent a good hour or so working out how to create and save PDF's on my iPad. We are selling up in Spain and the paperwork needs to be downloaded, signed, scanned and sent back. Finally got it after the umpteenth attempt. Now we can save all our scanned documents and send them off to multiple agencies as required. Hopefully be completed by June 8th.

Cancelled our BA flights and applied for a refund for our Jersey flights. The cheeky buggers cancelled our flights and offered us alternatives - same days, different times. They weren't suitable but others were on the same dates and we could change to them for no fee but they were a hundred quid cheaper and you don't get the difference back so getting a refund and buying them again. Also, instead of going in and out from Heathrow, we are going out from London City and in to Heathrow. Getting there a bit earlier and coming home a bit later too so an extra few hours over there.
