What have you been doing today?

Bought a day bus pass today and we've been here, there and everywhere. Went to Greve de Lecq beach, St Brelade for lunch and ended up back in St Helier where we walked out to St Elizabeths castle as the tide was out. Back at the hotel resting for a bit. Plan is to go back to Brelade for dinner but I reckon we'll end up eating at our hotel. I could easily live here - it’s like Cornwall without the traffic and crowds. Home tomorrow though. :(

Had a minor bump last November, school bus clipped my van in the car park, all reported to the office & bursar set the process off, he left shortly after, never heard anything so contacted school again, an email was sent to me from Zurich insurance in December which I never received.
Email was re sent with a claim number, & phone number, after a very long conversation with someone that sounded as if she was in another galaxy, everything was set in motion so I thought, I phoned my interstellar friend and discovered she had wrongly transcribed my phone number & the repair garage had been calling that, after that was sorted the guy came next day to take some pics etc, then phoned me to book a date for collection.
The replacement van had been booked, Europcar had been trying to contact me on (you guessed) the wrong number, all sorted now I hope after seven months

Jet2 have been rated by Which? and apparently they are less prone to disruption because they have their own crews.

Last day of our Jersey break, home now.
Vacated our room at 11.00, left our bags in reception. Went and sat around the pool for a bit. Went to reception to get our cases and I left Mrs Mottie to collect them while I went to the loo. The manager asked her if she had booked a driver and she said "No, we are going to get the airport bus that stops outside the hotel". "No, no no you’re not getting the bus" he said. "I'll take you". I had just come out of the loo to see him pick up our cases and was taking them outside where he loaded them in the back of a Bentley! We were well surprised. I took a photo of Mrs Mottie and he said "Give me the phone" and he took a photo of us. He ran us up the airport and wished us a safe flight. What perfect end to a perfect break.

What's happening with the hat

What's the name of the hotel you stayed at, we're thinking about an autumn break.

Susie was suffering in the heat today - we had to put her cooling coat on and drape a damp flannel over her head to cool her down. We might have to have a game of jump through the sprinkler tomorrow and Tuesday.

Yeah, that’s about right for us here too. Tuesday is the last day I have students this term so I’m hoping the school shuts and I get a free day. I have air conditioning in the workshop so it keeps it bearable if I have to be there.

Just got back from the allotment. Been chucking water everywhere for tomorrow. I’ve had a couple of plot holders watering my crops while I’ve been away but Christ, things haven’t half grown this week! My pumpkins are bigger than me 'ead, the sweetcorn is galloping along with two or three cobs on each plant, my small apple tree is heaving with apples, my salad is growing quicker than I can eat it and the courgettes that were as big as my little finger on Monday are like marrows now! I gave a few to my neighbouring plot holders and I’ve left the rest of them on the table by the allotment trading hut for others to help themselves. Meanwhile, I brought home a selection of beans, some peas, beetroot, onions and a lettuce. Gotta get those bagged up and delivered to Sainsbury’s by the morning - can't afford for @Notch7 to see any empty shelves! ;)
