Sod that idea then!

When mixed into the soil, ground eggshells provide plants with calcium. Though nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are vital for healthy growing from the cell walls of a plant. ... Tomatoes especially love calcium.
So it doesn't hurt by trying eggshells, doesn't do any harm

yes, I've sometimes seen people calling into coffee shops for a bucket of them (I don't go to Starbucks)

I use coffee grounds in a flower bed at home, but domestic quantities are very small.

also use slug pellets around the edges. Slugs and snails can walk hundreds of yards so you may think for the first week or two that they have no effect. But in time you will kill all the slugs in your patch, and dosing round the edges will catch new ones as they roam in.

Also brocken up empty Snail shells scares the snails and slugs off..
It works in the same way if we went in somewhere we shouldn't and come across lots of human skeletons......

Up and out early over the allotment this morning - wanted to get a bit of work done before the sun came round onto my rear beds. Built another (bigger) anti-butterfly cage for my sprouts. This one was a bit wobbly though so I had to add some bracing struts to it. Did that, bought and put up some canes for my runner beans and I’m back indoors with my feet up. Think I’ll watch a film this afternoon.

I bet you are making all the old people Well Gell Mottie!

Not quite, some of them have got netted beds as big as my living room with doors so they can walk about inside them wearing a top hat if they wanted to!

Ended up binge watching series 2 of 'After Life' with Ricky Gervais on Netflix. Brilliant - how can something make you laugh and cry at the same time? Watch it and you’ll see what I mean.

Copper strip with a zinc strip below with a small gap between seems to deter slugs.

Considering cost this prove too expensive. Using scrap brass and copper pipe is costless to me could this work in any way?

I once used wire connected to a battery. Worked a dream on a raised bed :)
