Yes, they have won awards for various different food and drink, including meat, wines and seasonal food.
No doubt about it, they are one of the cheapest but in the same vein, a Kia Picanto would get you to the same destination as a mid range BMW, a one bed Park Home would house you the same as a 3 bed semi in a half-decent neighbourhood and a beach holiday in Spain would be as warm as one in Barbados. It all depends what you want, what you can afford and what you are comfortable with.
I think you may be pleasantly surprised.
Thing is, if you've got lower standards you'll be happy with cheaper stuff.
I agree with you FMT.True, however Aldi food is generally crap and plenty of the branded products are subtly smaller, same for Lidl and Poundland etc. That said, all of the supermarkets are good for a few things, there's not one that's best overall though.
We’ve tried Aldi a few times over the years and I’ve never found the food to be of good quality.
What, like their fresh fruit and veg that only lasts about 3 days before it goes off? No thanks. Then you have chosen the especially cheap, economy foodstuffs they offer.
