What have you bought today?

Collecting today - a fancy kitchen corner unit 180 deg. carousel, found on FB Market. I'd been intending to fit one, for years, to make better use of that awkward corner unit. Whilst on FB, I spotted a friend of mine, from my youth, who I had not seen since my youth. A friend from school, had mentioned him, and that he lived only a couple of miles from me a couple of years ago.

I actually thought I had met him in a riverside cafe one day, but couldn't place the face, and so never actually spoke to him. At almost the same time/cafe, the creepy Jimmy Saville had walked in.

Anyway, I messaged him (a fairly common name) via FB, mentioning the schoolmates name, asking if he knew him. He replied straight away, that it was him indeed and he straight away remembered me. So much of yesterday evening was spent, playing catchup on each other's lives, since our youths..

In the middle of that, Avril suggested there was water appearing on the kitchen worktop, from the boiler, which I gave a quick clean and inspection of yesterday. It was nothing much, just the condensate drain pipe had not been fully seated, back in place.

A new mouse, all 11 buttons of it.

My old wired gaming mouse finally gave up and I cannot be arrssed to change the left button switch so got another, support wifi/bluetooth and usb with upto 10000DPI, all the colours of the rainbow and more.
I only wanted it for the extra fire button on the left and the macro editor that programs the buttons. :)

What game you playing atm @mattylad ? I'm about to fire up Fallout 3 on the PS3, for old times sake, I dare say I might plow a few hundred hours into it again!

Well the use of the mouse button is for Minecraft, I use a macro on the quick access button to take me to a safe home for when I fall in lava, the void (certain death) or am getting attacked by too many mobs to handle.

Or I did, as I'm the server admin now I just go into creative mode :)

I have not figured out any macro's for farming simulator22 which is the only other game I have played more than 5 minutes on since 2015.

To bring this back to what you have bought today (well Thursday), an industrial sewing machine for the wife's hobby of making handbags.

At nigh on £700 I'm not sure, mind you it's a decent bit of kit, not like modern household machines, this one weighed about 30kg and is all metal lol.

Not yet but I'm hoping to get my work trousers taken up and a zip put in my fishing trousers now she has no excuse not to lol

Treated myself to a new pair of Aigle Parcours 2 Vario wellies. My old ones were letting in water and I carried out a temporary repair earlier in the year using an inner tube repair patch! The side strap has now broken and I’ve punctured the air-filled heel so now when I use them in the wet, they suck and blow water and make a noise like Donald Duck with every step. Had them 10 years now so not done too bad. The old ones can be left over the allotment shed.

My most used ones, belonged to my dad, which he bought for fishing, when I was around five. Dunlop!

I keep them in the garage, with a pair of waterproof trousers over them - fireman style, ready to slip into.

How often do you use them? I‘ve used mine frequently from Autumn to spring for ten years. I bet a pair of Dunlops or Hunters bought today wouldn’t last that long.

I had a pair issued by NORWEB with steel toecaps, a couple of years ago I had to wade down a beck to get to a switch room so dug them out, came home with wet feet that day
