What have you bought today?

Last time I was in hospital, my neighbour had something similar to these, which he thought were OK.

A bit OTT for me, who normally goes barefoot in the house. When I was in hospital those two days, they provided me with a pair of weird slipper socks by default, plus a teenie bar of soap, and a single blade razor, then a second pair, when they caught me out of bed barefoot. I still have them - they have no front, no back, no heel. The soap and razor were worse than useless.

If you normally go barefoot around the house, why no just "upgrade" to socks?

They'll keep your feet warmer, and they'll stink less than slippers will (because you'll wash them far more frequently than you would slippers).

Is Mrs Mot finding jobs to keep you busy?
In the name of all that's green and good, i beg of you, don't paint over that wood.
We're all wooded out! Got too much wood in the house - kitchen cabinets, dresser, tv cupboard, fire surround, side unit, doors, hall table. Going to paint the fire surround and after that, the hall table (leaving the top just wood).

This reminds me of someone I knew in the mid-nineties, someone with too much time on their hands, and more money - a lot more, as it happened - than sense.

Living in Little Aston (a well-heeled area), they had a very nice / expensive oak kitchen (IIRC, it cost more than my house did).

At the time, there was a trend for "the distressed" look. I think you can see where this is going........

Lady of the house (too much time on her hands, with which to become convinced of the good sense of otherwise hair-brained schemes) paid someone to do the distressing.
Apparently, this was a bloke wielding a motorbike chain..............

Early evening, the man of the house returned from a hard day in the office, to find his £60k kitchen looking like it had hosted a beaver orgy :D

That is exactly what I put in, many years ago - a large kitchen, full of very expensive, solid light oak. As some might know, I have had a couple move in, who have wanted to attack it with a paint brush - because it's fashionable. Absolutely no way!

Oak is always fashionable..

Too much...wood...in the....house...he says.

I can't breathe.

I need ...

Only a Greggs
I got a freeby at Greggs today! I complained last week when I was charged 50p extra on the sandwich deal which included ANY hot drink because I had a hazelnut mocha which included, surprisingly, a shot of hazelnut syrup. They sent me an apology and a code for a fiver.

I bought the Marks & Spencer beauty advent calendar as a pre-Christmas pressie for Mrs Mottie (She'll get it on Dec 1st). 340 quids worth of stuff for £45. It is a good bargain and they normally sell out pretty quick. Only catch is, you have to also spend £35 on other stuff. I bought a pack of 5 pants for myself.

A nice small victory

I noticed when using a card on a plane, it doesn’t give a notification until well after you’ve landed. I imagine they can’t check it when up in the air. I might try a pre paid card next time with nothing on it. ;)

Climbing frame for my daughter, £25 off gumtree.

Needs a bit of tidying up and a couple of coats of hammerite but it should do her for a few years
