What have you bought today?

How often do you use them? I‘ve used mine frequently from Autumn to spring for ten years. I bet a pair of Dunlops or Hunters bought today wouldn’t last that long.

Not that often, just when the garden is very wet, as at the moment, but they were well-worn up to my acquiring them. They are still perfectly waterproof. I also have a pair of company issued wellies, like new, but they are not so comfortable to wear - not easy to put on, and tight on my calves.

Some paint. 'Wedding cake' (!). Mrs Mottie has decided she wants the wooden fire surround painted.

I bought a ☕️ machine the other day. Now the cats ‍⬛️ out the bag I might as well tell you all.

Just replaced my Makita Multi tool with a new model and liking the new quick release mechanism for the blades over the old Allen key bolt.

I bought a cheap Titan circular saw yesterday as my 23 year old Black and Decker turned into a jet engine, spraying my leg with sparks. It was cheap and crap, surprised at how crap really as I have a few other Titan bits and they're generally OK. The sawing part is fine but as for the depth gauge and the guide rule they're terrible. But these days I only use one maybe once a year so it'll do.

They pestered me when in hospital, to wear something on my bare feet, now Avril is pestering me too. I've bought several pairs of slippers over the years, but never really got on with them. I had backless types, I walk out of them, cannot take stairs in them, some are just too low at the heel. I found a pair in the cupboard with heels, they had gone loose on my feet, found another pair, new, which seemed fine on Wednesday, on Thursday, they began leaving a trail of thread behind. Investigating, I found a lump of the sole had fallen off, shame as they were comfortable/wearable.

Yesterday, I set off to have a look round the local shopping centre, determined to find a pair I could get on with. I always like to have a wonder through the charity shops too, whilst there, and found just what I was looking for in one of them, brand new, at half price.
