What have you bought today?

Bought new AV for my PC. Last years was Norton 360, able to cover up to 20 devices, cost £45 when I bought the laptop. Renewal cost was £134.99
As I don't have 20 devices I downsized to a single device but the link they sent wouldn't work. On line chat with them and it appears my last licence didn't terminate automatically last night so they had to do it manually. Nice bonus for my trouble was they gave me an extra 30 days cover free of charge. Now fully protected again and a deep scan shows no problems with virus, spyware, malware or rootkit problems and PC is running at optimum performance. :)

Never used, or indeed been tempted to use, additional AV on my laptops.

Additional to what?

I just use AVG free antivirus on my pc and laptop.

I used that for years then my wife had to buy a professional one for her work so she got Norton Pro which covered a number of PC's. Last year though she had covered the permitted number so I bought my own on special offer. Maybe next year when this runs out I will go back to AVG.

I've known people to have real trouble with Norton.

I use malwarebytes, free for my mac. My lovely new shiny mac I bought myself at the start of the lockdown :)

I tried Norton once and it slowed my PC down to a snails pace. Removed it pretty quickly.

Windows defender. Included in win 10

There is probably little point in running anything else. The only other aspect is updates. Unless something has changed leave that on auto. Reason - they used to publish exploits and may well still do.

I assume if it does have blues you couldn't actually use them in traffic?

I got a bargain today. Was driving past B&Q when I noticed they had a cage with odd bits of wood in it so pulled in and asked the girl on the door what was the cage for.
She said it was scrap/discontinued wood and to help myself/ I know they do have a similar cage in their foyer where you can pick things out and make a donation to the local homeless but she said no, this is entirely separate so just help yourself as most of it is actually totally useless. Well someone must have made a mistake but I am not one to argue so promptly loaded 5 lengths of straight 2" x 2" x 6' fencing posts into the back of my car, (so glad we took my car and not my wifes little one :) ). I'm sure if I can't use them as is then I can rip them down to a size I need for one of my projects.

WINNER!!!!!
