They have no idea what will happen to the economy following Brexit, no idea how trade will be affected,
Absolutely nothing. Life continues as normal and we simply negotiate exit from the political machine of the EU, not the free-trade zone. We import more than we export to that zone so 'Europe' cannot hold us to ransom since it would be ecominally untenable. The customer weilds the power, and European businesses do not want to lose our custom.

no idea what kind of deals we'll be in, no idea how those deals may affect immigration
It's safe to say it will be as favourable as the deals negotiated by Norway, Swizerland etc., but tailored to Britain of course. But it could be years before any news deals are struck. Until then, business as usual.

no idea if we'll be in Schengen Area
Since we are not in it the Schengen Area now it seems exceedingly unlikely that we would join it after leaving the EU! More likely we would negotiate free movement with countries of our choice.

no idea how employment will be affected
Short term no change at all. Over some years, employment in Britian is likely to increase as we acquire better deals with the Commonwealth countries, while we are insulated from the increase in unemployment in the EU as jobs are exported to the USA after the TTIP is signed.

no idea what will happen to current EU workers in UK
Short term nothing, long term probably nothing, but at most they'll have to get visas. Like all the non-EU workers.

no idea what will happen to ex-pats
Short term nothing, long term they may have to acquire leave to remain.

no idea what will happen with visas
Long term it's possible we will implement visas for travel between some European countries (probably not the western ones), and instead allow freedom of movement between some commonwealth countries.

Meanwhile the remainers left the whole drawer of cutlery in there! They have no idea how much more soverignty we will cede to the EU, whether they will implement the European army, whether the TTIP will result in privatisation of the NHS and water supplies, no idea if we'll join the Schengen Area, no idea whether the Eurozone will continue to collapse, whether our trade with the EU will continue to shrink, whether we will bankrupt ourselves with uncontrollable immigration, whether the EU will ever make a deal with India, no idea what will happen in Ireland, etc, etc.
They don't even seem to have given it much thought!

All this is just scaremongering. We managed OK for 900-odd years before and will continue to do so.
We didn't in the later part of 20th century. By 1970's we were the sick dog of Europe:
Throughout the 1970s, the United Kingdom was sometimes called the "sick man of Europe" by critics of its government at home, because of industrial strife and poor economic performance compared to other European countries, culminating with the Winter of Discontent of 1978–9.

But remember that things in the EU are not looking rosy. The Euro lurches from crisis to crisis, the Italian bank problem is looming, and in most countries, the far-right political parties are gaining ground - look at Austria yesterday.
No different to the general global view then.

Rather than seeing the EU as some sort of comforting nanny, many of us see it as a slowly-sinking ship, failing ultimately under the weight of its' own hubris. The last political experiment in trying to unify disparate nations also failed - it was called the USSR.
Don't use that old worn-out comparison (coined by the paedo') of USSR and EU.

No; the EU is the world's only shrinking trade bloc.

False. The Brexiters are fortunate in having real-world models of what Britian could look like in ten years if we leave, e.g. Norway, Swizerland, and several others. The Remainers, by contrast, have only past trends to predict the future. And the trend of the EU has been nothing but down.

But the Brexiters have not consulted EU about what kind of arrangement would be forthcoming, so it's a one-sided: "we'll do it like this!"
The EU may/will have different ideas!

You mean they might choose to hold us to ransom? Lock us out? Punish us for our betrayal? Well when you put it like that they sound like such a fair-minded, forbearing, democratic bunch. I'm glad we're staying in their club after all!

But you have to admit, the Brexiters campaign has been so much like the SNP's referendum argument: "We'll leave and we'll dictate the terms of our exit!"
But when rUK told Scotland: "you can't keep the pound, you'll have to shoulder some of the national debt, you'll have to pay your share of armed forces, etc" the SNP's argument didn't look so good after all.
Perhaps, late in the run-up to the referendum the EU might suggest the kind of terms that Brexit will have to consider?

@ Himmy; read this morning's Graun; Erdogan now wants the EU to take 500,000 more refugees.

But just google 'Italian banking problems'
What's that got to do with gerry's claims?
And you have to subscribe to read it. So why not reprint it for us?

yeah, Erdogan wants to accede to EU, so what's new?
What he actually said was:

Turkey expects western countries such as Britain to step up the formal resettlement of Syrians on Turkish soil,

see the subtle difference? Bit of journalistic licence there from Guardian. It gives them a platform to argue the Brexit case and Turkish migration to EU.

Just like President Obama told us we'd be at the back of the queue?
These threats, and threats like Junkers' recent 'warning', calling us 'deserters', suggests that this is a club that treats us with contempt, but just wants our money.

Of course, it could be friendly advice. It's how you interpret it, whether you agree or not.
