Scotland might have better finances if the new Shetlands oil field comes online in 2019, but with the low oil price, it may not make a great deal of difference. Spain on the other hand, may be looking at Gibralter as a source of finance if it loses the handouts after we go. Gibralter turned itself into a bit of a tax haven when it lost the revenue from our navel bases, so is now self sufficient.

Sorry John, it wan't a rumour. Spain has issues with it's Basque region, so couldn't support Scotland breaking away from the UK, without appearing hypocritical. Todays change of attitude by the Spanish government to now support an independant Scotland, is therefore a bit of a surprise, but doesn't actually prove that they would then support Scotland entry to the EU when the final vote comes in.

You see John, this is the problem with trying to discuss things with you. You always want sources so that you can search through them for the bits that allow you to refute them. No matter what is given to you, you will always twist it to suit your purposes.
This has always been the general supposition of how Spain would vote, and that's all. It's only a rumour to you, because that's how you wish to portray it; for eveyone else, it's a perception of how things would be, and perception isn't a rumour I'm afraid.
