The hypocrisy of it! A politician telling companies to employ British workers. It's the politicians who messed up the country and the labour market in the first place.
I've come to the conclusion that whatever happens to the British economy, British workers will never benefit in a boom or time of growth. Many will just exist as if the UK is in a permanent recession.
If the UK economy is bouyant, there will be no jobs for British workers, because the whole of Europe and further afield will be first in the job queue. The Brit worker can forget buying a house, because boom time means sky high property prices and lots more competition for housing.
When the inevitable bust follows, Brit workers are in the same boat. No jobs and can't get a mortgage.
So, what's the point in worrying about the economy? The Brit worker has been sh!1t on, and will never see the benefit of their hard work, if they can get any work at all. It will be worse for the younger generation.
Tell me about it! I tried to explain it to Mrs Pred but she couldn't quite grasp what I was trying to explain.
The question about immigration, it wasn't a yes or no in or out it was are concerned, should Camoron go for a better deal in the EU, what load of BOLUX!
Nearer the date I would like to get hold of UKIP leaflets to adorn my windows, I think more people will vote for him if they see the amount of support he has.

Apparently the number of job vacancies currently available in the UK totals 491,299 and last Nov 2012 there's 2,530,000 number of people out of work in the UK, pretty pointless saying get on yer bike!

These people from the EU are prepared to move to work, no reason why Brits shouldn't. Give me a hard working immigrant over a useless Brit who thinks they are owed a living simply because they were born here.

does not the british buy the goods,that keep firms afloat mainly,so should it not be right to offer a job to the locals. just saying.

If the best candidate for the job is "local" then I would also bet that an employer would pick that local candidate in preference to an equally qualified/experienced candidate from far away. It makes far more sense to hire somebody with local connections and who is less likely to get homesick and sod off back.
The problems arise
1) Local candidates are not as qualified/experienced
2) Local candidates are not prepared to apply for the job because they cannot be bothered, maybe because they get more cash from the taxpayer over here.
If nobody local is suitable, or the foreigner is better, then it would seem reasonable/sensible to hire the person from further away.
Yes it's a problem that we have a load of kids who cannot get jobs. But my daughter has just got a job in Norway. We can also apply for jobs overseas you know, it's not just a one way street.

They have had their wages tripled, if my employer were to do the same to me he might get a bit more out of me,these days they pretend to pay me so I pretend to work.

I think you're right. Although I shall definitely be voting for UKIP, it will be too late by then. The country will be over-run by more East Europeans, the health service will be even less able to cope and who knows what else will happen to the country.
All I can say is that I'm glad I'm 60 and retired now. I'm just hoping that the NHS can struggle along for another 20 years!
No you wouldn't.
That philosophy might work well enough if you could persuade those 'useless Brits' to emigrate and look for work. The problem is that the majority of the ones to which you refer have no interest in working and are quite happy to live on generous benefits.
There's only one way to sort that problem.
