Wiring for a compressor

Oh I see....anyway he has made a nice neat job of it and I feel better about him having done it rather than having a go myself. I had a good feel for the ways of doing it from advice on here but I am glad it has been done professionally.

As a decent side bonus he has agreed that when it comes to the rewire he is happy for me to help in order to save some money!

I only use henley henleys. I get them from the fuse company online. They're much better quality than the generic service connectors many wholesalers sell.

Not that I often have a need for them, but I fortunately seem to have quite a stock of Henley ones which I must have acquired from somewhere a long time ago. A lot of the other 'generic' makes I've seen appear to not only be of inferior quality, but also physically enormous.

Kind Regards, John

I used some terrible, not fit for purpose ones recently. Had to go back to change them to something better on Saturday. They had hex head screws that were all different sizes, few actually fit a 3mm driver, the rest were distorted and the hexagons misshaped and too big. I can't remember the brand, they were grey and from Citys.

No, I bought them as they were the only ones available on the saturday I was doing the work. When I was loading the gear on the van late Friday I saw there were none in the stores.

Edit, I always buy the best quality items available. I often push for things like the MEM Excel and Glasgow switchgear.

The proper Henley blocks have threaded holes for the conductors which ensures a really good connection, also they have 3mm hex screws which you can nip up really good and proper with a t bar Allen wrench. Much better than the standard slotted or even worse combi slotted and Phillips head screws that some service blocks come with.
