This isn't true, the Jews that were sent to Palestine from Europe were the poor and disheveled from Eastern Europe and they were welcomed by Muslims, until they started wanting to own the place that is. The point is Muslims just expect Jews to exist and be a part of their world as Jews always have been. They are tolerated because they are a normal part of life. Zoroastrians and Yazidi (pre-ISIS) also tolerated, what was the reason for that? You're struggling to believe a religion can legislate tolerance of people of other beliefs but that is something unusual about Islam and that's true to day as it was at the beginning because its written in the religion.

Reporting on north of the strip isn't that clear. It appears that the all gazans get out order has been given but also area ones. There is heavy fighting in some areas. Counts of people who have gone extremely low compared with ~350,000, just 100 in one count at the check pont and reports of leavers being shot. That appears to be the out of the north checkpoint.

It is clear that no general aid has been allowed into the north for 10days now. UN managed 2 fuel deliveries. No others. One for bakeries and one for hospitals. Some hospitals told to evacuate. One wont as they are getting people turning up that need treatment. Some critical patients have been transferred.

The heavy fighting appears to be mostly in the largest refugee camp but it looks like bomb hits can still be all over the place. Roads blocked and a checkpoint here.

Leave or starve appears to figure. Much like Israel threatened for the whole of the north.

Israel took a BBC reporter into Lebanon. Around 2miles in Small arms fire could be heard. Later getting nearer so had to leave all including the IDF who of course took up guarding positions further away.

Very supervised and imagery vetted. Destruction shown, looked like bombs. Main purpose seems to be to show a small arms cache to indicate that Hezbollah was preparing to group and do a HAMAS style attack on Israel. One piece of anti tank stuff partly assembled. Others in cases. Not that many of them, a few. Night vision. All brand new.

Lebanon elsewhere. Hits on Beirut have dropped off. Some further away said to be due to Hezbollah having scattered, More in the south. Evac the beaches order given - intent to shell from the sea?

I think you and DevonBullet are talking about different eras. You're talking about the Middle Ages, while DevonBullet seems to be talking about after 1900.

thats what has become obvious. I stupidly assumed all the murderous colonialism my nation indulged in for the last 500 years was the stuff of history. We should also consider America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa (and other African countries), India (and Pakistan/Bangladesh) and closer to home Ireland.

All that can be said is that the Ottoman empire was doing pretty well. Infrastructure and etc with all types around, Then comes WWI. Results a more or less colonial middle east and the Brit Mandate were actually Israeli needed some wealth to go to an embryonic Israel. Later. Arms embargo that a country broke. 1st stages of lift off. UK added a Zionist to organise it all.

Brit peace keepers then were an army. Nothing like what these are now. These days they come from a number of countries and no one has any interest in trying to form a true army with them.
