Vinty, to what extent are you pro life? Do you think if a girl/woman is raped or a victim of incest and gets pregnant that she should be forced to see the pregnancy through?

I have to wonder if those who are "pro-life" are also pacifist and vegan. After all, if terminating a pregnancy is unacceptable, a murder in their eyes, surely war is also murder, as is the slaughter of animals to eat. And what about the morality of the abortions performed (with papal approval) after the Seveso disaster in 1976? Was that immoral? Or does this regard for life simply boil down to male control of the reproductive rights of women?
Pro life? Don't make me laugh. It's only pro-life towards an undeveloped foetus and not towards thousands of women.
What these USA religious nutcases fail to register, is that it won't stop abortion. It'll make the lives of women far worse or even cause their deaths. Mucking forons.

It's amazing that two things so unrelated as Anti-abortion and Fundamentalist religious sects seem to be so completely linked.
There are several States that will not comply with the new Abortion Act allowing women to go out of state to seek an abortion , however as the legislation is detailed they will be prosecuted for having an abortion upon their return home .
So it will be done secretly.
It is those that carry out the abortion or wilfully harm the foetus, that will be prosecuted.
...and anti-gay, same sex marriage, those that are different, those that are mentally disadvantaged etc, etc.

Those who take an off-the-shelf morality and full set of other crap, have to fit everything into it, or they have to lose their pious self-view.
The production of life per se isn't of value. No human culture anywhere, ever, has maximised numbers of offspring, even for the rich. Only animals do that.
Civilisations have learned to control production of humans as people.
Abortion is messy on more than one level. _The sight and sound of a 24 week foetus, say 18cm long, being crunched and broken up inside the womb so it can be hoovered out in lumps, is more difficult to rationalise as acceptable than say an appendictomy operation.
But for many, producing a child would be far worse.

Of course. After a while there will be a sufficient set of routes. Available to all but the poorest.
There wil be unfortunate unwanted kids.
There will be evangelist a-holes (right wingers if you like) trying to boost themselves, at poor people's expense.
So killing a child in the womb is actually in its best interests.

An unborn child is a human being in its own right, separate from both parents.

And what would you say to that child when they find out that their mother didn't want them?- no choice!
The fanatics who go around claiming every foetus is sacred don't give a toss about that do they!
