Ex-UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson "deliberately" lied to the British Parliament on multiple occasions during the "Partygate" scandal, a parliamentary committee of enquiry concluded on Thursday.

Having been informed of the findings of the committee last week, the former British Prime Minister resigned as a Member of Parliament last Friday.

I think you'll find it was the likes of Sir Chris Whitty and his deputies that put out the scientific info and advice, to which the UK public followed.

I did believe that keeping myself as far away from other people was the best choice for me personally, and others too.

No, that wasn't the reason for these rules. I think it was to try to minimise the spread of COVID, by only allowing people to gather for necessary work purposes. I suppose the thinking was that work had to continue, so the risk of COVID spreading there was unavoidable. But having parties was an unnecessary, additional risk.

No, that wasn't the reason for these rules. I think it was to try to minimise the spread of COVID, by only allowing people to gather for necessary work purposes. I suppose the thinking was that work had to continue, so the risk of COVID spreading there was unavoidable. But having parties was an unnecessary, additional risk.

Given time, he could have found that out himself, if he wanted to.

Like others on here, it's easier to just describe the events as a glass of wine and a slice of cake. Boris was guilty of lying, some of his supporters are close to it too

It's almost like some people want it all ways. They want politicians to be honourable, and say they will resign if they have been found to have done anything wrong. But when they actually do that, they accuse them of playing the system.
