But Mikefromlondon, you seem to think Your God sprang up from nothing, or do you have some other spark of knowledge about how your God Happened.
You God Bother's seem to always come up with the gem that God was always there. rather convenient that little gem.
At least we non believers have some evidence by repeatable experimentation as to how it all works, you guys have a rather naughty book of Fairy stories to hang your hat on.
I prefer evidence myself rather than silly contradictory out of date stories.
But unlike you lot, if you provide even a sliver of evidence I would be prepared to listen to what you have to present, but until you come up with even just a little shaky evidence, I suggest you keep quiet
Hysteresis, I should really copy and paste my own explanation, which I have stated on these forums many times before, and it is not an ill thought theory,
My view about God is that God is a master source of all energies, from which we have emerged (I mean our universe) and all its laws came into existence when it got created by this master source of all energies, commonly known as God.
You see Einstein said that Energy cannot be created, so my God was not created, and Einstein said Energy cannot be destroyed, so that means my God lives forever. Or God is immortal, and when you cannot create something and it exists, since we know energy exists, therefore there is No question of where did this energy come from, it was always there, it had no beginning and nor ending, it is forever!
So, if I ask you can you see Energy? Nope, no one can see energy with their eyes, because it is invisible, yet it can take many shapes and forms, from electricity to Magnetism, gravity, nuclear radiation, all main sources of energy and perhaps much more than these as we may not have yet discovered other possible sources.
And we know very little about other aspects of this master source of Energy, if I may call it Supreme Energy, I am referring to the same thing as God.
Now, this energy may have many other attributes that we don't yet fully understand, like personality aspect of it, which is the attribute that dictates humanity how to go about living a truthful life, through various messengers, like Jesus, Muhammad, Mosses, Guru Nanak, Buddha and Krishna and Rama, all others that I have missed.
But, how this supreme energy interacts with these chosen messengers and they in turn either tell us the truth or perhaps tell us many lies, or add their own words I don't know, but I don't care about religions.
Once we find how this interaction exists, the communication link between this Supreme energy and humans, we may get any closer.
But for now I am satisfied that the Universe came from this Supreme Energy, the Master, the Almighty God, whatever else you want to call this Supreme energy, including i believe it is also dark energy that we cannot detect easily and scientist claim that it occupies 80-85% of empty space, i.e. space without matter.
I also claim that gravity is an inherent part of every matter particle, i.e. atoms, which means each and every atom is related to the other as they came from one common source (master Energy) so this invisible link or relationship is tied up by a force of attraction called Gravity, this bond between Mother God and the matter atoms cannot be broken by any means other than annihilating atoms out of existence, which is we do the matter gets converted back to God mother source.
thus total energy in the universe cannot be created nor completely destroyed, but a cycle of birth and deaths of stars and galaxies keeps this master source from being transformed from one state to another, matter to energy and energy to matter, possibly a self triggered cycle without a requirement for an input, or linked to the personality of God, which when he the master energy thinks that he needs to create a universe and just his thought triggers action as it may be linked to spring energy into action.
So just my strong theory, and totally thought independently about 10 years ago, and since then I have come across many articles agreeing with my own theory, and in fact surprisingly it even says in the Hindu Bhagavad Gita that God is the ultimate source of all Energies, the personality aspect of this may be spirits or soul, that we understand very little, telepathics, and so on.
The sikhs also believe that God is Energy and Energy is God, one without the other is not possible they say. They are both part of the same coin, or it is like you can't have a fire without heat.
The Bible quotes that God made our universe from something we cannot see into something we can. Quite obvious this something we cannot see is Energy.
The Holy Koran says God is light, and we know now that light is immensely powerful, take laser, it can cut through steel! and if I am not mistaken light actually can create matter, I believe I read somewhere where scientists have created a few protons using a powerful laser light.
We have a long way to go, but we certainly cannot dismiss it.
