At last they stir...

I am sickened by the Millionaire Cameron telling me we're all in this together!!!

And so am I. I reckon that he has already been told if he and others use that phrase again they'll get crucified or ought be.

It's even better when the soon to be billionaire Osborne says it. :p

Can't wait till Blair, Brown and Mandelson repeat that phrase. ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I'd like to hear what the universities are going to do with the students arrested yesterday. Will they be booted off their courses, or allowed to continue?
Nothing like quelling dissent is there...

No wonder Camoron didn't really criticise the Chinese... ;)

I still can't see where your coming from on this. You can't or won't condone thuggish, violent behaviour, by some people in this country.
What if these students were to riot on the street where you live , smash your car, windows etc, you might think differently.
Just because it hasn't caused you any harm seems to be an excuse to say this behaviour is ok?

Or am I assuming too much again?

PS does the DM stand for the Daily Mirror?

I wasn't the one raising the possibility that someone who has merely been arrested might be 'booted off their course' was I...whatever happened to the due process of law?

Is that how you believe people should be treated - guilty until proven innocent?

I bet we'll find that most will have no further action taken, although plod may be a bit more 'vigorous' with their charging given that it was Camoron's headquarters, and the students made the met look like a complete bunch of idiots!

Throughout history, sometimes when there is perceived injustice, violence has been used as a tool and even given widespread approval...

So I don't condemn it (when people aren't targetted, hence why everyone seemed to call out against the extinguisher incident), because sometimes, as I've said before, a 'crime' is justified' if it prevents a greater one...and that defence is allowed in court!

So,,,,,,, What bigger crime were these students preventing?

Ahh, the crime of having to pay for their education. Hmmmm

You don't half talk the proverbial load of, at times.

PS I loved the photo of the students holding the banner up proclaiming " We Are Your Futrue." . Yes the last word is as it was on the banner.
Obviously not studying English at Cambridge.

I assume then that you'll happily bend over and take whatever is thrust your way then....

Or is there something that will make you take to the streets?

Think hard before dismissing the possibility... ;)

And if we can't scrape 9 grand together, should my daughter apply to tesco's?

But if she's smart enough, then she could work up the ladder and pehaps become the boss if not then she'll remain a shelf stacker.

Ohh so charging them for a first class education costing thousands of pounds is a crime? Hmm

There's lots that would make me take to the streets and protest peacefully. There's nothing that would make me riot and join in anything that would cause thousands of pounds worth of damage to a building, as well as putting lives at risk.
Perhaps you should be the one doing the thinking?????

Apart from the fact that you have ignored my caveat about "putting lives at risk", are you absolutely sure there is nothing that would get you acting the same way?

I suspect you havn't thought hard enough about the answer as I advised... ;)

Charging over the odds for a second rate education whilst allowing the perpetrators of the 'financial crime of all time' to go scot free certainly is...

So who pays for all of these teachers / tutors at uni, and all of the studying aids that are required, if not the students? If it comes completely out of Government coffers, then they WILL recoup it in some way, make no mistake. It's always easy to blame the Tories for this mess that the country is in, but lets face it, any government would have done the same. If you keep shoving food in the pigs trough, they will keep eating. The cuts have to come from somewhere. And does anyone here think that the 'riots' will change anything?

Erm.. the poll tax "riots" seemed to have the desired effect.

Not sure that accusing 18 year olds of being pigs is fair, it is your generation, mine and previous ones that are culpable not someone that started uni last year.

Maybe you ought to be asking why they don't take on the multinationals...the vodaphone £6bn scam is just the tip of the iceberg!

But then governments don't actually make the real decisions do they!

And btw, it's not 'government coffers', it's our money in case you've forgotten!

And does anyone here think that the 'riots' will change anything?
Not this one, but just wait until it really gets going... ;)
