Opinion matters except mine
Not at all. GBNews can put out as much disinformation as they please. But don't be surprised when folk rip it to shreds. Incidentally, the last opinion based right wing channel of note, has lost hundreds of millions, blurting bullshít, to the needy. That famous line 'the election was stolen' has cost the idiots that repeat it over a BILLION dollars and still counting.

Dumb RWR.

It has been sanctioned and faces more sanctions. Two things to say about that: one, Ofcom has been flooded with complaints about GBN that it has to investigate, even if they have no sound basis, and is struggling with that task. Two, if there is misinformation and a lack of neutrality then my advice is to reach for the Off button and all will be well. Incidentally, GBNs viewing figures matter little when it’s bankrolled by at least one billionaire.
How many of the complaints that they've investigated have been rejected as not being soundly based?

I'm not sure having a billionaire backer should be a cause for celebration either.

Finally, how do you know it's misinformation if you don't already know the topic really well?

You guys have become so damned excited about that darned channel that I thought it only fair to do some research on your behalf. No, don't thank me.....

So I tuned into GBN this evening, and what did I find? A parade of raving lefties, that's what!

First, Nigel Nelson, ex-political editor of the Labour-supporting Daily Mirror. Then who should come along but former Labour MP and Minister in the Blair government Denis McShane--yes, he of the expenses fiddle--followed by former left wing Labour MP Lloyd Russell-Moyle. But it doesn't stop there: alongside raving Righty Jacob Rees Mogg was liberal commentator Amy Nickell-Turner, and some woman whose name I missed but was billed as an "anti racism campaigner". Then to cap it all, after 9pm who should pop up but left wing commentator Benjamin Butterworth, who, I'm reliably informed, writes for the Independent and the Guardian.

Lack of balance? You betcha!!

No.

GBNews ironically, is not a 'news' channel. It's mostly (RW) opinion based on current affairs/events.
For once I'd agree with you. It features political discussion programmes with panels who discuss the news, features focused on current news items, and news bulletins. Its never pretended to be anything else, except in its billing title. And as I said above, by no means do all of the commentators express what you call "RW" opinion.

The folks who are "ripping it to shreds" are of course entitled to their opinion. But GBN, despite the concerted campaign to prevent the channel acquiring any paid advertising (another tactic that the book-burning left uses to try to silence those who don't unconditionally accept their narrative) will continue because its backers have money. And I for one prefer a diverse range of opinions rather than the kind of one-sided Ya-boo nonsense that you appear to trade in.

1984 was a satire, not an instruction manual.

You would be wise to fact check what you hear on GBnews….

Unfortunately GBnews is not a terribly reliable source.

  • Overall, we rate GB News Right Biased and Questionable based on a lack of transparency with ownership and funding, numerous failed fact checks, and the promotion of conspiracy theories and pseudoscience.

You might wonder why GBnews pushes climate change myths and misinformation

The broadcaster has regularly platformed climate science denial and attacks on net zero since it launched in 2021.

When I say “diverse”, by the way, implicit in that statement is my understanding that not all parallel opinions on any particular subject can simultaneously be construed as fact.
