Bloody Apologists!!

Hello Kendor

The first link in India I believe depicts a form of execution which is well documented and is the first I have ever heard of it as a form of atrocity. I dont know why the people were executed I could not find how to get any more info from the site other than the drawing. Perhaps you can elaborate ?

Another cop out by freddie twisting things again to get over only his viewpoint.
Atrocities are Atrocities it doesn't matter who do them they are all abominable but innocent people get involved and it is this which you so cleverly(or ignorantly) choose to ignore!
You are so blinkered that you cannot see any evidence against british troops and only those perputrated by others.
Of course any evidence put forward that contradicts anything you say is all lies in your eyes.
Get real!

I did ask you earlier Adam ad i will ask you again---can you inform me now of all these bad things we did to the rest of the world which are somewhere near or on par with anything the Japs did? or infact just tell me any of these bad things that we did to others i would love to here of them as my history teachers forgot to tell me off them---and before you start spare me the one of the potatoe famine

Well, I am in the "British Empire was the best thing that happened to most of these places" camp, look what many have done since we pulled out.

However, whilst on the whole we brought peace, order and enlightenment to most of the world, we have had a few moments that aren't to be proud of. The first one that springs to mind is the Boer Wars.

In the Boer Wars, the British created what was arguably the world's first concentration camp. The British put quarter of a million people in those camps, roughly half native and half Boer. Now, whilst the war was fully justifiable, was there a need to kill 25,000 Boer civilians, 20,000 Africans and to employ a "scorched earth" policy on towns, farms, livestock etc? Probably not.

It was a justified war, but the casualties and treatment of civilians can not be justified. Sure we gave them some money to make it up to them, but would you feel happy if the Japanese government just chucked some money at you? I doubt it.

You're welcome to keep on hating the Japanese, that's your perogative. But forgive me if I don't join in your xenophobia.

For your own sake, remember that bearing a grudge never hurts anyone but yourself. Whilst you are sitting there stewing about it the Japanese don't know how you feel, unless their PM happens to be into DIY! I'm sure there are groups you can join that pressurise and lobby the Japanese government, you obviously feel strongly about the issue so your efforts would be well spent there.

But Adam that's all lies and didn't really happen ;)

Wars to end all Wars we were/are told? Rubbish - family, religion, wealth, and ultimately power, are the drivers in this world.

This'll do you more good than worrying about war and who did what to whom LINK.

:D :D :D

I havent altered anything on anything--here we go again with the same person who hasnt got a view but goes around the forum trying to twist and accuse people of altering facts to stifle a valid point put forward by others.

Kendor i replied to your links as best i could and with the personal knowlege i have, you come back with ???????????? by the way i have never said that anything didnt happen not my words yours again i believe. To be honest if you have nothing to add or say on any valid point then why do you entertain such threads, and as regards the Japanese civilians i and others have put facts and links regarding them so either read the thread properly before you comment or put some fact as to why and where we are wrong.

By the way we now know that the Iraq war is totally unjustified ( since the last time this was debated ) and what has come out since is that Tony Blair lied through his teeth to start the war with Bush, so really any accidents or other events out there lie solely on his shoulders and his supporters of which you are i believe in fact you even started a thread in praise of his achievements recently--asnother contradition i think.

Adam i asked for evidence on all of the British atrocieties you gave one which is true as regards the concentration camps, i dont know the figures but i dont doubt you are correct, but i know that SA became an allie afterwards i am not aware of any compo claim was there any ???

What other British atrocities were you referring too???

Adam i dont bear a grudge i just wany those responsible to pay and face justice just as you would if someone raped your wife or murdered your children

What absolute claptrap once again!
you try blaming atrocities carried out by renegades on blair??
yes he was wrong in sending them in the first place and if you bothered to read previous posts you'd see that i said such.
you tried to justify atrocities by passing them off as executions, does that give it credibility then??
You really don't like it when someone criticises you do you?
still i'm sure you'll find another jackanory story to justify your claims and try to twist the evidence before your eyes.

I agree with you but what can you do about it when most of those responsible are probably already dead?

Well Freddie, mention the name "Black and Tans" to the aged inhabitants of your emerald isle, and see what they have to say about it!

If someone raped my wife or murdered my child, I'd be hopping mad, and yes I would want them to suffer for what they did. But ONLY them. I would not expect to kill their firstborn, or make the streets run with the blood of their brethren.

You find yourself the b*stards who did what they did to your family, but remember that if they are still alive, they will be at least 80 years old. Even if you think the whole nation was responsible then, you can't seriously expect people born after 1945 to take responsibility for it. That would make as much sense as you being punished for the crimes of the person who lived in your house before you did.

Talking to a Nippophile friend earlier on (is that the correct work for one who loves all things Nipponese?) she told me that the culture in Japan dictates that if you feel you have disgraced yourself in a matter, you never mention it. And because of this, most people in Japan today know very little about WW2.

Your argument would have carried more weight in the 1940s.

Pipme the appology and compo thing has been going on for years

Again well put Adam.

Thankyou. :D

Freddie, the War Graves Commission pays for the upkeep of all the British and Commonwealth war cemetries around the world, so if your relative fell in battle then the grave is being maintained because that is what they are being paid to do. They do a wonderful job in my experience, immaculately-kept grass and neat flowerbeds. The epitome of an English garden, no matter what is surrounding it.

As regards the Japs well i sincerely hope they change and quickly as if you know about that area there is a huge mineral and land/sea dispute just beginning with China which may be the fuel for the recent Jap atrocity revival in China--and this time i dont think China will run away

Again you twist things bringing in Adolf hitler into the post?? what the hell has he got to do with Iraq??
No you havn't changed anything have you Jackanory, Jackanory.......
Come on Freddie you seem to think we will fall for your rubbish, face facts those put before you, and admit for once you are wrong!
