Boiler working, Pump Working, Actuator working but No Heat or Water. Can anyone help?

Are you really sure that the MPV is going over to CH only which will ensure that all the circulation is just through the rads, if you are, then you can really start trouble shooting, might be worth doing those tests I suggested in post #36, even though a PITA.

Hi Johnatheo sorry im not being rude bit i have no idea what that statement means? MPV? PITA?

Its quite possible, its a ingenious but devilishly cunning device, thats why you should try all the various combinations, so suggest when its apparently in mid position, HW&CH calling, pull on that manual lever, if it is in mid position then the lever will be loose and floppy with no resistance as soon as you pull on it, if so, do 2 more tests, one, I mentioned above, "with both HW&CH selected just turn the cylinder stat right down, the valve should go fully to CH only and the boiler should remain firing, see below, also check pump on speed3." HW, Port/pipe B should then get cool after a while and the boiler should continue to fire for at least a few minutes even if only 2 rads, for whatever reason, are only heating. If the boiler doesn't continue (see below) to fire, put both HW&CH back on and simply switch off the HW at the programmer and see what happens.
Also remember that any time the valve changes position (even when working perfectly), the boiler will stop and then refire within, at the most. 10 secs or so.
Sorry but i think i missed this reply

MPV is a (the) Mid Position Valve, the three port valve that you have.
PITA is a more polite way of saying a "pain in the a--"

MPV? Do you mean the Actuator?

Yes, the MPV or 3 port Mid Position Valve consists of a actuator and a valve.

The Actuator is brand new i bought it on Saturday. I think i will have to change the valve.
Before you do that just remove the actuator from the valve, fire up the boiler on CH only, then turn the valve spindle manually until the pipe to the CH only, marked A on the valve body, gets hot, see how many rads heat up then, if pipe A only gets hot then unlikely IMO that you have a valve fault.

Hi Johnathan, sorry i dont want appear ungrateful but you keep giving me abbreviations that i have no idea what they mean.IMO????? I also dont want to sound thick

IMO In my opinion lol I thought you were being technical. All the pipes are hot, I have just turned CH Only on and this time only 2 rads are working. These same rads work no matter if it's CH or on HW. Also when i run CH only the Water gets piping hot. Seems to me that the Valve is stuck in HW mode.

Did you remove the actuator and turn the valve spindle manually to give CH only, pipe A hot, it doesn't matter what the actuator is calling for then, all we want to see is if the water then goes to CH only.
