Brace yerself. It’s coming, it’s coming. Better start saving up…..

Back on topic, was speaking to a bar/restaurant owner about the recent protests against mass tourism and he said all the owners want British tourists above all others, we eat/drink/tip/spend more than others, no way would the EU want to make it hard for us, we spend over £100 billion a year on travel, if that stopped millions would be out of work.
Yeah, they need us more than we need them..... was the cry, back in the day before Brexit.

It's good you recognise they don't act against their own interests.
It's a shame UK doesn't learn from them. :giggle:

Calling someone a gammon could land you with a criminal offence.

Yep, it's not halal.

Does that include those flooding into Europe from Africa and the Middle East without even a passport to their name? That’s good, it’ll stop them travelling across Italy and France to jump on a dinghy to come here. Now, you can’t deny it, that most certainly IS a Brexit bonus, isn’t it?

Perhaps Border Farce and RNLI should charge the boat people before ferrying them to these shores. Strictly cash only.

I was mulling over the idea to get an EU passport, but to be honest i have yet to find a trip where i would have benefitted.

If you have Irish ancestors, it's a no brainer. Lot more flexibility than UK one, especially travelling in EU. Would have saved me needing to apply for CZ residency.

No charges here. When I was considering living in Czech Republic I applied for temporary residency before Brexit hit. Lasts 10 years and is renewable. Can come and go to EU as I please. (y)

You can't. It only applies to Czech rep.
You can come and go to Czech rep, as you wish, but it does not apply to the EU. It only applies to Czech Rep.
You'll need to follow the same rules as any other alien in visiting the EU.

To be fair i agree with the charging, we went to Palma for a daytrip, tried to get a bus, all full, so got a taxi, once there it was hammered, the queue for the Cathedral was a 3hr wait, had to go to McDonalds for a coffee as all cafes rammed, left soon after to escape the madness, and this was a Thursday.

Jeez!. Doesn't sound like much of a holiday to me.

If you have an Irish passport, why did you bother with an application for a:

You didn't need one, if you have an Irish passport.
If you are now claiming that you have an Irish passport, are you like Mottie, make up any lies that suits your purpose?

Trouble is, the tourists we get won't fecking leave leave their 4* hotels.
That's the accommodation provided for them by the government, who preferred to house them in hotels, rather than process them properly.
The asylum seekers would much prefer the government to have processed them.
So blame the government not the asylum seekers. It's not their fault.
But due to your extreme bigoted attitude, I don't suppose you'll ever join the dots.

Are you claiming to live in Southport now. That's a fair way from Bristol.
And true to habit, reaganandcarter manages to shoehorn a rant about asylum seekers into a thread about EU passport controls.
Typical rabid racist behaviour.

He probably applied for a tarjeta de residencia. It's pretty straight forward if you can prove you've lived in Spain prior to Brexit.
it's almost as easy as registering your car in Spain, except you don't need to be a resident of Spain to register your car.

Of course if he's not legally in Spain, he could find himself deported in no uncertain manner, refused entry to any other EU country, and facing a penalty of a fine or imprisonment.
Anyone who commits serious crime in another country can expect the full force of the law to be applied.
Nope never lived in Spain in his life and has been back here few times on holiday so passport being checked nothing flagged at all
