Pensioner who own a house aren’t in poverty.
So that’s 80% of them


It is noted Aveatry was never bothered about the big rise in child poverty and in work poverty…..but of course Aveatry falsely claims these people have plenty of money they just need to “cut down on their Netflix” or “they have the latest iPhone”.

Aveatry hates people on benefits….he says they are “benefit scroungers” the Daily Mail made him believe it

I didn’t mean say it before the election, just do at the budget

They can’t really do that, there would be a massive uproar and questions about not having a mandate to do the opposite of what they promised.

Politics means bad decisions are made.

What you suggest, would be a sensible solution that wouldn’t affect the economy so much…..they should’ve done that rather than end the fuel allowance. They could’ve set the farmers IHT at a higher starting point as well, or restricted it to those actively farming for 5 years previously or something

I would like there to be another General Election. I believe the current Labour Government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead up to the last election.

Absolutely not.

Just want a more balanced parliament because a party who only won 33% of the vote has such a huge majority it’s not good for anybody.

As it stands they can get away with doing anything

So let’s do some simple sums

Homeowner pensioner on £11500 state pension give about £221 per week

Minus eg

£2000 council tax £38 per week
£2000 Dual fuel £38 per week
£500 water £10 per week
£2000 food £38 per week
£1000 other bills £19 per week
£1000 transport £19 per week

Total £162 per week

Leaves then about £50 for everything else

That is not well off, that’s probably relative poverty
