First impressions count!

Reckon they'll be more from the Wilson Callaghan mould than slick New Blair Labour.
People have very short memories with politics.

What matters most is how they feel in the runup to an election, not what happens immediately after one

If you knew anything about business, you'd know that its in their interests to take very little in salary.
Motorbiking is making reference to the fact that "profit" and "salary" can be manipulated to the benefit of the manipulator.

A person in control of the numbers can claim to be poor, even if they are not.

Beware of anybody who claims they are entitled to generous handouts or that their life is hard despite sitting on millions.

It is much harder for those in genuine poverty.

You understand this would result in more profit being taken as income? or maybe you don't understanding anything.

What i simply don’t understand about the budget is why Labour didn’t raise the top rate of tax to 50% and the upper limit of NI from 2% to 5%

Simple to do, brings money in immediately and hits the people with the broadest shoulders

Manipulating numbers can have various results, depending what the manipulator wants to achieve.

You know that.

Perhaps you can explain why a person would want to reduce profit and increase salary.

Yes they should’ve done, absolutely.

If Labour had said they would raise income or NI that would have provided the Daily Mail and Telegraph etc 6 weeks of headlines….and possibly cost Labour the election.

It’s all BS because if Tories had won, taxes were gonna have to go up.
