Cinema style ceiling?

MDF would be easier to work with than ply - but I would make sure it is well supported so it doesn't sag over time. On another thought, ply would paint better than MDF. MDF doesn't like moisture from paint and goes fury....

Is that your "comfort bear" for cinema nights on your own?

2 years down the line...... your wife is patient

More like lazy, she could have done it herself by now :LOL:

I’ve done it with 9mm mdf, the 6mm seemed much more weak. I primered it then painted it and it’s covered pretty well.

All those squares are points where I can fix into the joist and I can do anywhere around the rim and the hatch if for the plugs and secret stash.

Need to put the fibre optic cables in next and figure out how to lift it up. Maybe a couple of 3x2 T’s to balance it on?

Looking good so far. Plenty of support is the order of the day. MDF slumps like hell - I want to see these lights in action...

Ps, fit a jam jar full of raw liver to your bear. Works a treat on my Pudsey.

Just be careful on your microwave wattage..... and after add some bacon - a delicious tea for all the family.

That’s 3 hours of my life i’ll never get back, and another 2 tonight to finish it.
