Covid mortality predictor

A lot of people have complained that relatives deaths have been attributed to covid even though they were covid free. Complacency rather than conspiracy on the governments part.
Have they? There's a fair number of people that don't believe anyone is dying of Covid-19, like these idiots. When there's some actual proof then that'd be more convincing. Just because there are some people ranting about it on the internet doesn't make it true.

But you miss the main point. A lot of people have been dying, apparently entirely coincidentally at the same time as a large number of people are catching Covid-19. In your world the fact they have positive diagnosis of Covid is just a coincidence or a conspiracy. They're really dying of Lyme disease or excessive accumulation of black bile.

You don't understand real life , do you. They put deaths down to "with covid" as they can't do an autopsy on every one who dies. This is from a fact check site (channel 4)

According to the Royal College of GPs, doctors can “register COVID-19 as the patient’s cause of death on the basis of a reasoned clinical assessment, whether or not they have been tested for the virus”.

You can say the same thing about breast cancer and diabetes - people don't die of these, they die from secondary cancers, and organ failure caused by elevated blood sugar levels, so you could say, nobody dies from breast cancer or diabetes. But you'd soon be told where to go if you did by all those that have lost loved ones from those diseases.

The only thing that is important is that covid 19 is affecting people, and more people are dying. Deny the relationship all you want, but more people are dying regardless.
Call it coincidence if you like.

So if no one has died of flu this year, but doctors can put covid down without testing for it but using reasonable clinical assessment , would they be able to differentiate between flu and covid just on symptoms displayed, fever, difficulty breathing, aches and pains ? Sounds like flu to me, but no, it's definitely covid.

Sounds like the day after a big night out to me. Maybe everybody has just been partying too much.

The thing you seem to forget is that flu and covid are two very different things, that can be seen under a microscope, so there is no risk of covid actually being flu, because people are tested, if not before catching it, but in a post-mortem. The scientists can tell the difference, even if you can't.

But not without testing.

Sorry, got to disagree with that. Doctors are pretty clever and more than capable of diagnosing common medical conditions without needed to do tests all the time.

But if you want to believe it's flu, go ahead and believe that, nobody will stop you.

How do the individual nations of the UK fare?, Scotland,Wales and Northern Ireland have a combined population which is less than London, so I've been trying to find figures for deaths per 100 000 for England on its own, but can't find the figures.

I came up with this long ago in the first wave. I'd guess the same could be done again with recent death figures

TBH I don't think all of the differences relate to overweight. Handling the problem will come into it as well. Also behaviour.

The numbers argument goes both ways. First change was time since diagnosed with covid. They still log the longer one and their isn't much difference. Also in hospital some take longer than the new time to die.

Another factor has been noticed - a significant increase in death rates when the NHS is being pushed. 20% from memory. Read during a wave for that.

Also modelling results on what would have happened if lockdowns happened earlier.
