I too would like to add my voice to the appeal for his re-instatement.

With respect, when abusive posts are removed publicly from the forum, they are logged and recorded, because you don't recall them doesn't mean it didn't happen. Sometimes a mods action may appear harsh because you can only see the aftermath - both sides of the story cannot be seen, but anything removed by a mod is accessible by admin.

Can you inform us of any of the above posts that have proved so abusive under the name of Daneski88 to justify his ban. As stated, there are far more abusive posts from other members that are allowed to remain as members.
I for one am prepared to state that I find posts from the following people to be extremely abusive at times yet they appear to be 'untouchable'.

Nordio,
Ell Al,
Geraint,
Penfold.

To name just a few. No doubt if I go through the threads I would find more but these are the names that immediately spring to mind.
No doubt that this post will now be logged against me as a 'stirrer', then so be it.
But this is a 'General Discussion' forum where we are supposed to be able to discuss in an adult manner topics which we find of interest/value.
For the good reputation of this site to continue I would suggest that you look closely at the guidelines you must have for moderators to consider before taking action against a poster and have the courage to admit that a mistake may have been made and will be rectified.

It's related. I'm very curious to know why there is a lack of consistency regarding (primarily) deletions and (ultimately) exclusions.

I have reported what I have considered to be abusive, offensive posts and sometimes they have been removed.
Other posts (which I presume go unreported) have been just as bad yet don't get removed.
I can honestly say that dex's posts were rarely offensive, but given the heated debates he got embroiled in, I'm not surprised that he got carried away at times. But I can't recall any purely malicious posts, which is, again, why I'm questioning the consistency of the moderation on here.

I've always liked daneski (and under his other names)

If a Mod deletes and reports you for abuse, to uphold the rules, thats kinda fair enough. BUT that should mean 'everybody', not just the individuals they've taken a dislike to.
One example would be months of abuse from certain strange, fundamentalist, religious posters who in my opinion got away with murder........................(as they do) .

Trouble is.........
Mods can take a disliking to you purely because they disagree with your opinions on subjects, humour, banter etc. and then delete your posts when no 'rulebreaking' has taken place at all.

And THAT can't be right.

Has he been banned for posting as dex or as daneski88? because otherthan having a very trivial spat with mickymoody .

Don't bring me into it! I don't know the guy or know what his previous is, or what he said to me that you refer to!

Why would someone need to reregister their name? And why would a member have an incident that another member recalls, even that I don't?

He has obviously been warned, and ignored that, so fair cop Admin.

Surely all members who disagree with Mods / Admin could vote with their fingers? Stop posting on the GD Forum, and stop giving DIY advice. This site would fall on its feet pretty quickly then :!:

Just do it for a week or 2. Surely thats capable, even for the 'harcore' of the site?

P46.

Me and he fell out big time, but in the end we made up, no doubt he will return under a new name, coz you can't stop anyone from signing up under a new user name.

I reckon we should form a committee of members and it is they who should decide who goes and who stays. I will head it and the first person to go will be...

So coljack when your pretending to be a woman online whilst grooming young gamers what do you do with the toilet seat you lazy jobless freeloader?

I'm paid P.a.y.e so can't cheat tax even if I tried, Libby your whole family are a drain on society and everything that is wrong in Britain today, vermin is too soft a word. Vile scum breeds vile scum and you are typical of a British sink estate family who I would put in hard labour camps and be made sterile (to prevent more vermin being born) given the chance; no doubt your Vicky pollard daughter is fiddling the social as it's all that filth like your disgusting vile shameless family have ever known.

Anyway off to work now scum like Libby and his Vicky pollard daughter (does she even remember/know who the fathers of her children are?) depend on taxpayers like me to pay for his/her fags and booze.

Most ppl on benefits are parasitic vermin, and deserve to be shot.

Johnd and johnmelad are clearly deluded. Benefit claimants are vermin.

£5 000 000 000 a small amount of money?
You are retarded.

Libby you have admitted being a benefits cheat b4 and that your daughter is a Vicky pollard chav single mum. You truly are scum.

You make assumptions bawbag but know fek all; very ironic of you to talk about honesty when you are infact full of $hit.

I've always thought, that comments like those above are really offensive, maybe even libelous. You never got that type of evil, hurtful comment from Dextrous , Daneski.
"You" have to be consistent Admin, if you are going ban people over comments made. I don't normally get involved with the decisions you make, but in this case, i'm with the "vast majority" on here, who would like to see one of the popular personalities of this site, re-instated,,,,,, please.

I reckon we should form a committee of members and it is they who should decide who goes and who stays. I will head it and the first person to go will be...

I started this thread to ask that dex be treated fairly and in the hope that admin will allow him to re-join.
This thread is not about about getting other members banned. For what it's worth I don't want to see any member banned. As for Dangermouse. Many of us like him but not everything he has to say and despite what you say, he is an asset to this forum, imho.

Who goes and who stays should not be left to people who cant accept that others have a right to express a view which might be at odds with their own. If you don't like what another forum member has to say, ignore it, simple.

aj, it's not really as simple as that. To say just ignore what you don't like misses the point.
if you accept that the forum is moderated, (as it is), then a line must be drawn as to what is classed as opinion and what is classed as abuse.
Personal attacks, threatening words and insults to individuals, such as those highlighted in JMLs above post, have crossed the line, which throws open the question of what is tolerated and what isn't.
Admin make that decision as it is their site.
I still question the reasoning behind some of the deletions recently, but there is a bigger picture.
Maybe the answer is for forum members to be more proactive and actually report real abuse as it occurs, for the benefit of the forum, not just the individual.
Some of the dross which is posted on here can hardly be classed as mature response, it is quite simply abuse, something of which daneski was certainly not guilty.
As an educated, intelligent, informed and articulate poster his input is a loss to the forum, but hey, ho! We still have the real stirrers to lighten our day.

If those comments reflect the general quality of dm's input, yet he remains, then I can't see why daneski got banned.
There's just no sense in the decision.

I haven't seen it.

If he gives good advice to people, good on him.

So he lets himself down with comments such as above, which does nothing for the forum and must look quite pathetic to non-regulars who look into the forum to see what is going on.
