Dr Andrew Wakefield and the MMR vaccine

Understood, but autism is increasing and I would not like to live in a society where autism is considered an inevitability.
Have you ever stopped to think, "Maybe the prevalence of autism are not increasing. It's the diagnosis that is increasing."
I think John alluded to this in his comment.

I'm referring to the statistical increase in children and adults having chronic illness or disease.

Which diseases do you have in mind? What statistics are you looking at?

there are an ever increasing number of unhealthy, diseased and retarded adults and children in society

You're not suggesting they would be better off dead. Are you?

.. and for your information there have been no long term studies comparing vaccinated versus non-vaccinated populations. A long term study could be considered that between 5-10 years.

The link you posted is a study in the relationship between single and multiple vaccinations. I believe the OP was aruging that ANY vaccinations are potentially toxic and harmful for the body, he didn't bring a debate of single versus multiple vaccinations. Did you hope nobody would notice this ?

From your link : ''The experience of Japan therefore constitutes a real-world experiment of replacing triple MMR vaccine with single vaccines because of problems with production. If the proponents of a link between MMR and autism are correct, the result should be that cases of autism fall after withdrawal of MMR.''

Why do you say you believe that? Note the thread title "Dr Andrew Wakefield and the MMR vaccine"

Did you hope nobody would notice this ?

Gasbanni, if you are still reading this, can you confirm whether you believe all vaccinations are potentially toxic and harmful for the body, or whether your concern lies only with the MMR vaccine ?

I'm willing to accept that when he wrote "Dr Andrew Wakefield and the MMR vaccine" as his subject, he meant "Dr Andrew Wakefield and the MMR vaccine"

If you change the subject at this point, what has this thread been for?

If you want a thread about some other topic, start one.

have harrowing stories
Anecdotal evidence, however harrowing, does not prove anything.

Maybe this also applies to Andrew Wakefield

It doesn't.

the onset of brain problems occured in most cases after MMR immunisation

Sometimes the brain problems were present before the immunisations, sometimes months passed. Also most? So not all then. Cant draw many conclusions from a study of 13 children when not all of them showed the same issues!

@gasbanni do you know why the paper was retracted? I`ll give you a clue. Its already been mentioned

The fact that Japan's autism rates have not declined despite them not trialling the vaccine is of no consolation or assurance to me, because evidence shows autism rates have been increasing worldwide, year on year, so for all we spend on vaccinations it doesn't seem to be doing us much good, does it ?
We do not vaccinate against autism.
There is no link between vaccines and autism, so I fail to see why you made this statement. This has been studied by numerous groups, over many studies.

Surely, the correlation between vaccines, and the things they prevent is the thing you should be interested in? Remember polio?

If I was a concerned parent (god forbid) I would choose not to have my child vaccinated, not because I understand the science, but because there are an ever increasing number of unhealthy, diseased and retarded adults and children in society, all dependant on pharmaceutical support, and the health authorities don't seem to understand why autism rates are increasing, yet they are often overly keen to throw expensive treatments at them (which often just mask or reduce symptoms) This should send alarm bells ringing.
Your ignorance and lack of ethics are noted.

If I was a concerned parent (god forbid) I would choose not to have my child vaccinated
Let's hope you never have children then.

And then he goes on to say....

not because I understand the science, but because there are an ever increasing number of unhealthy, diseased and retarded adults and children in society.
Hilarious, you couldn't make it up.
