EV are they worth it?

You were happy to bend over for oil companies before were were forced into EVs. You still are. Everything you buy has come to you thanks to oil cos and diesel.:idea::idea::idea::idea::idea::idea: You're funding it.:idea::idea::idea::idea::idea:

Least when I go to a petrol station I know I will leave 10 mins later with a full tank and range of 650 to 700 miles. I can fill up under that nice big canopy that keeps me bone dry.:cool:

Unlike you, standing in the p!$$ing rain, trying to find the right plug, then trying to find the right app, hoping the app and charger are both working. Or there are some chargers available. Then if you're lucky you get to sit in a car park on a retail park for an hour like a mug, playing on your phone and eating Greggs sausage rolls and several cups of coffee to help relieve the monumental boredom that is EV ownership. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I can see how, to someone who didn't know their ar5e from their elbow, selecting the "right" plug from, (at most), a choice of two totally differently shaped (and coloured) plugs, might seem like a daunting prospect, but don't worry. Before you are finally forced, kicking and screaming, into your first EV, help is at hand. Practice with one of these, and you'll soon get the hang of it...

But it does seem that on average, about 150,000 ICE drivers each year, can't seem to even manage that! :ROFLMAO: I wonder how many incidents of EV misfueling we get each year...?

Not really interested in "apps" unless they come with a hefty financial incentive - just tap my ordinary contactless card on the reader and sit back in my nice warm car....

But unlike you, I actually have real life, lived experience of refueling both sorts of vehicle...:)

Have you ever seen an EV spontaneously combust ?
I feel like I am talking to a gold fish that has a 5 second memory. This was posted before, here it is again. Video proof of EV spontaneous combustion:

And as a reminder the question was would you not help a neighbour in any emergency?
I am not obliged to help anyone. I may help or I may not help depending on which side of the bed I get off from that morning. I would be less inclined to help an EV owner. They are unkind to deliberately increase the risk to the neighbourhood.

The debris field, from the fire is behind it, which suggests it has been dragged forward. I'm less sure why the rear wheels came adrift, I am not familiar with the construction of EV's.

I think someone might have swept-up a bit. afterwards. Interesting how close it must have been to the garage, if that's its position AFTER having been dragged away!

EV wheels are held on just like ICE wheels.

140 cars?! Pah! Small change....

Here's the aftermath of a parked ICE Landrover taking out over 1000...

I'll just leave that there...

What parameters are used to decide into which category a burning vehicle should be placed.

Does a vehicle that self ignites when it is parked off the road get categorised as a fire in a road vehicle ?
You should ask that of fire services, if you are so utterly, utterly desperate to try and find anything you can to justify* your deranged position.

* Which, of course, can only ever be in the minds of you and your fellow bigots.

So you have never seen 1 spontaneously combust.

Thought not.

Seen lots of youtube though haven't you.

That is unbeliebvable, even for you.

Not having 1 yourself is not the same as spreading false information about them to others.
Wrong again, sorry, no cigar!
So, you've just said that "Not having 1 yourself is not the same as spreading false information about them to others" is wrong.

Which means you think that not having one yourself IS the same as spreading false information about them to others.

You don't have one, so therefore that means....

Time for a recap:

1) You've just said that you are spreading false information about EVs to others.

2) In #3192 you confirmed that Avocet was being very silly to expect you to have credible evidence, and not just be making claims based on hearsay, prejudice and couple of clickbait videos.

It really would be in everyone's interest, especially yours, if you were to make good on your promise in #3186 to give up.

Do you really believe that? Do you really think that Mercedes wheels come off if the tyres (never mind the rims after the tyre has burned away) are slid across the road (or in this case, brick drive)? If I were to get in an EQA and pull a handbrake turn (tricky, with what I imagine would be an electric handbrake), do you think the wheels would come off?
I believe Mercedes have been in touch with the Insurers to gain access to the vehicle to mae their own investigations.

Having looked at the picture again, that wheel doesn't look at all damaged. I'd be curious as to how thats come off too
