Farage Kent Coast discuss

There is no such requirement. Journalism is not a protected or regulated profession in the UK. He asserts that he was reporting on Illegal immigrants with Covid symptoms. He has a get out of jail card until someone can prove otherwise.

He's made a complaint https://twitter.com/Nigel_Farage/status/1258423522583613450/photo/1

Journalists are not regulated but they follow the NUJ's code of conduct.
Press is regulated, has been since the Levinson enquiry and things like broadcast media is regulated by ofcom.
So.. as journalists tend to work for the media, you could argue that now the whole shebang is regualted.

Plus, Farage isn't a journo. End of!

Maybe because Pritti Awful Patel said she would reduce the numbers of illegal economic migrants crossing the channel. The opposite is happening and numbers are going up - a lot. People need to know of this security threat, especially in these times.

I didn't see any hatred. Just highlighting the lies, dishonesty and inaction of government.
No, because you agree with him. Why would you see the bad points about someone you agree with?

Thats just your opinion.
Does that mean anyone currently under the wrath of lockdown rule breaches can claim journalistic immunity?
If they are reporting on Covid matters - Yup.

He's also the leader of a political party and this report/trip/work could not have been done at home.

The legislation is very flexible.

Can Naga Munchetty, Susana Reid or Louise Minchin work from home?

Is anyone getting done for breaches? Apart from "trophy" collars like NF?

Yes - any alleged criminal found doing no good has the breach automatically added to the charge sheet.

Though "professional criminal" may have a work exemption.

The cops seem to make it up as they go along.
Some forces have threatened to force drivers to stop and account for their journeys this weekend, despite the fact that there is no legislation in place to allow this. Others have said they will capture registrations using ANPR and send out automatic fines.

I shall say again.

It is unlikely that it is police constables just deciding to do these things. It must be senior officers instructing them - which is even more worrying - in one of two ways.
1. They cannot interpret laws correctly.
2. They do not care what the law actually states but are doing it anyway.

It doesn't take a lot of research to find that the chief constables were issuing instruction to their chumps, and threats to the general public, regarding what we can and can't do.

And...

We have mild winters and severe winters. Nothing new.

Irrespective of the weather, what are you and fromage expecting from your crusade? No matter what the government, no matter what the weather, we will always have our share of desperate migrants. Is this the bit where you stand guard on the beach with your rifle and shoot people as they drag themselves up the beach?

What is your solution RAC?

But the numbers ARE going up. The trend is upwards. Even when the evidence is from what must be your favourite rag, you are unable to accept the truth.

And yes, much as I would like to defend our shores from alien invaders, I don't think it would be allowed anythime soon. Getting tough is the only answer as you have no solutions. But don't let me stop you dragging more rubbish into your non-argument.

Look on the bright side. We're told that there will be checks on people entering the UK from the EU, unless they cross over the Northern Ireland border, and there will definitely not be border checks between NI and GB.

Of course, what we're told might not be true.

Why haven't we seen the recruitment ads and training schools yet, for half a million new border guards and customs officers?
