I notice that all your postings about boilers have been in the public section of the forum.

By now you should be aware that trade questions shopuld be posted in the helpful CC part of the site. We dont give DIY gas advice here.

Its such a basic question that its difficult to imagine that anyone who was gas qualified and had done appropriate training/apprenticeship would have no difficulty in knowing the answer.

Its unfair on the public to have people who are qualified to work on gas appliances who dont have the appropriate experience to do regular jobs.

How did you get your ACOPS?

Oh now I get it, I thought the flue ran down "wards" as in a fekkin hospital  , ooooooooohhhhhh MATRON, you'll kill all the "patience" or is it Patients with Carbolic Monoxids, you "meant" "downwards" I seeeeeeeee, bolloks to English and spelling I say, just missread the MI's and fit it upside down, no no nurse, I said Prrick his boil, not boil his Prrick, ............

PVM, You`re assuming it`s a medical hospital  I was thinking of another Secure type - for Gas Fitters particularly

Looking at newgasinstaller's Original Post I am struck by the

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????

at the end of his question. To me, that means he doesn't think it is allowed, and is just confirming this on here. So as a punter, I think he should be congratulated, and not get asked how he got his ticket.

As he is expecting to fit a new boiler then he is meant to be gas registered and thus able to post in the CC part of the site.

If he is gas reg he should know that flue arrangement is not permitted with a condensing boiler but probably is for the non condensing boiler. Not very advisable perhaps but usually permitted.

Really? I'm not aware of non-condensers where you could run the flue downhill, can you name some?

PS: I am aware of a condenser where the flue runs downhill to outside, but not using 45 elbows, of course.

Simond it surprises me that someone who has fitted thousands of boilers over the past 8 years would not know this ;)

They say life is full of surprises.

I was commenting on Agile's post that implied you could have used 45 elbows downhill to the flue outlet on a non condensing boiler. And I am still unaware of any products where you could have done this.

Most non-condensers required a slight fall on the outside terminal to stop water ingress, but we are not talking downward elbows here.

I haven't fitted a few thou myself. One has staff, you know
