...- I was merely questioning what point you're trying to make, when you yourself state that DNA inheritance is "haphazard and random".
That comment was related to ancestry lineage, not anthropological movements of populations.

Can we forget about ancestry lineage. It was something introduced by Vinty and is not relavant to the genetic makeup of Europeans.

If you want to respond to that post, feel free, it's a public forum.
Don't feel restrained because I was responding to Vinty's post.

Edit. I've addressed my post to you, just in case you're not sure to whom I'm responding. :rolleyes:

Which, academic interest aside, is not relevant anyway.

So, again, what is the point you're trying to make?
I can only assume that you're new to this thread.
This was the original train of discussion.
Vinty has since been twisitng and turning trying to prove that most white British people do not have any DNA from the ancestors of modern day Germans. His conflation of ancestry lineage was just one of his twists and turns.
Yep inside every french person is a Brit trying to get out ;)
Inside every Brit is a German trying to get out.

Genetic study reveals 30% of white British DNA has German ancestry

...with most white British people now owing almost 30% of their DNA to the ancestors of modern-day Germans.

Whereas the French only have about 4% of British DNA, which includes the West of France, which was probably about 10% of British total at that time.

Ethnicity estimates by DNA companies

FamilyTreeDNA

According to FamilyTreeDNA, my DNA is 100% from Europe, with:

  • 81% from West and Central Europe (which includes France, Germany and Belgium);
  • 12% from Scandinavia;
  • and 4% from the British Isles (which includes the West of France).

Having spent a large part of this summer in France, (along with a month in the far east, and a couple of weeks back in UK) I can assure you that French people are perplexed or amused why UK went for Brexit. Any suggestion of Frexit receives a "NON! ce serait bizarre!"
Their dominance in the EU receives little consideration, they are far more concerned with domestic politics, just like most populations.
How the f#ck did you manage to go around the world and post every 3 seconds here???

The original train of the thread was that the French might be leaving the EU.
:rolleyes:

And transam made an hilarious comment (well he thought it was hilarious), and I responded with a bit of actual real life data.

:rolleyes:
