Fruit and veg ‘will run out’ unless Britain charters planes to fly in farm workers from Europe

Oh yes there is!

Brighton-based Concordia, one of the biggest recruiters of volunteer workers in the country, said it had 35,000 applications of interest after the appeal.

While the response was significant, it said only 16% – 5,500 people – opted to interview for a role, leaving a gap between supply and demand for pickers.

In a sign of the impact of coronavirus on the economy, the company said “almost 90% of applicants [were] from UK citizens, half of whom have lost their livelihoods due to the Covid-19 outbreak”. It added only 30% had worked on a farm before.

No, I don’t 'identify' with Romanians because whilst I’m the same race as them, I’m not from the same culture as them - just like I’m not from the same culture as home-bred thieving, benefit scrounging, white British scum.
We'll, you're probably not the same race as a Romanian. They're fairly rare in the UK.

As to what class you are, I'm not going to object if you out yourself as Prince Andrew, although your behaviour has been pretty questionable if you are.

I am, but thanks for the wiki link - I can now see where Ellal is getting his confusing information from. I can also see how people are confusing race and class with ethnicity and culture.

I'm glad your understanding of the topics under discussion is improving.

To expand on my response, you don't seem to know what you're talking about. Race is a fractal concept, at every level there are more lower level subdivisions. At a completely crude 'white'/'black'/'asian' level you might be the same race as a Romanian, but that's so crude a measure it's pointless and it doesn't work. But if you then hop down a level to Anglo Saxon, Romanic or Slavic, you quickly see that Romanians are a different race than the UK. Even the 'white British' option on the census is distinct from the Romanian ethnic group.

As to culture, again it's a fractal concept. But assuming you're born and bred in the UK then you're probably a member of the same culture as any other born and bred Brit who happens to be an idle layabout. There are differences, Cornwall and Dorset with their Scone wars as an obvious example. But if you found an idle layabout in your town you're probably going to share much of what can be described as culture.

Class is probably the more hot button part, but you can't choose what class you were born into your Highness. Still, when it's the simplest way to identify differences then I'm not a fan of being overly politically correct. It probably is a class effect you're describing.

Throughout I'm conflating Ethnicity and Race, because it is also too bloody confusing and detailed.

When all this is over you need to have a night out and a chat with EFL
