Head of the snake chopped off.

you think it won't happen, that they'll just throw in the towel and give up?

Longterm, somebody might take up Sinwars position, short term I doubt the remaining Hamas fighters will have the will to fight on, it's been made clear to them they have a chance to save their own skins by laying down their arms and returning what's left of the hostages.
Now the real talks can begin but first an interim govt needs to be put in place, overseen by Arab neighbours.

Hezbollah are in tatters and will likely try for ceasefire, I think it's too soon. Lebanon needs a new govt without Hezbollah influence, they need trimming back further.
Oddly, the UN's refusal to evacuate UNIFIL suggests they would prefer to maintain the status quo.
I'd love someone to explain that one to me.

The Middle East is at a crossroads with so many positive possibilities. Before that can happen, there's one more problem that needs sorting.

Ha ha ha ha ha

A year of atrocities in Gaza will create a new generation of Hamas way way more dangerous than before.

Oh and if Trump wins, Putin will become emboldened so those new Hamas fighters will get all the funding and arms they need.

Palestine is a state, and as a state they have the right to choose their own government.
To 'parachute' in some 'approved' government would be in contradiction of the UN Charter.
Article 2 (4) of the Charter prohibits the threat or use of force and calls on all Members to respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of other States .

The way the war is being prosecuted, the Lebanese military might join Hezbollah in repelling the Israeli invasion.
The Hezbollah objective is not to win the war against Israel. They know they cannot achieve that. Their objective is to make the Israeli invasion so expensive, in politically and in casualties, that Israel is forced to pull back, as has happened before.

Oddly, the UN's refusal to evacuate UNIFIL suggests they would prefer to maintain the status quo.

The UN will refuse to be dominated by a single state, especially one that so blatantly ignores UN Resolutions.
They are there to observe the UN resolution.
Established by the UN Security Council, UNIFIL is tasked with monitoring the cessation of hostilities following the 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah, confirming the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon, and assisting the Lebanese government in restoring its authority in the area.
Because Israel has now re-invaded Southern Lebanon does mean that UN task is completed. The UNIFIL is now more needed.
Israel wants a clear field to repeat the ethnic cleansing as they committed in Gaza. UN will remain to prevent that.

The Middle East is at a crossroads with so many positive possibilities. Before that can happen, there's one more problem that needs sorting.

Israel's violent hostilities in Gaza and the West Bank is the source of all the animosity in the Middle East.
They are repeatedly contravening the UN Charter:
Article 2 (4) of the Charter prohibits the threat or use of force and calls on all Members to respect the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of other States .

Some of us on here hope they won't, some of us on here hope they will, who knows?
Most want a peaceful two state solution, and no more violence.
If you cannot see that, you are blind or ignorant.

Filly doesn’t want a solution, he wants Israel to win and Palestine to be eliminated.

He freely admits he doesn’t like the Palestinian people.

Filly, the hater who falsely accuses others of hatred.

I doubt if his aspirations are limited to a subset of Arabs or Muslims.
His Islamophobia is probably what motivates his support for Israel.

Many on here want a one state solution. There are literally hundreds of pages of posts claiming Israel has no rights to the land, by default that means these posters deny Israel's right to exist.

Do you think these posters are blind or ignorant?, or just racist?.

Racists like to scream racist. This is a perfect example.
