Immigration and the tories

h&S is a seperate issue which i agree with but you said it the unions did get too big and yes thanks maggs for sorting it
Health and Safety is relevant to what i was saying and not a seperate issue, if it wasn't for the electricity at work regs coming in then a lot of people like myself would have been made redundant, the timing couldn't have been better.

maggie was an evil woman her only concerns were defeating the unions some where out of control but the majority were moderate some in the middle her only real concern was making people work for less and less to maximise proffits for the bosses and share holders
thats why she liked unemployment it drives down wages and maximises profits
well said that man!

Which just nicely takes us back to where we started and is why the government is keen to bring in more foreigners. So is there really that much difference between lab and tory?
They both want cheap labour, they both put up taxes, they both had a go at unions(maggie more so obviously) they both support private money be it privatisations or PFI's, they both cut hospital and schools, both award themseves big rises and they both start wars.

Being given a lot a choice aren't we?
Any Party that wishes to be voted in these days has to take a middle line and therefore certain policies will overlap somewhat, the difference that i see with the two parties personally is that i feel i can trust labour to do the job i voted them in to do whereas with the tories the saying once bitten twice shy springs to mind.

Oh hardly, for all the years when Labour were losing every single election they could muster, no student house, suburban dinner party or TV debate was complete without at least one whinging socialist boning on about how bad they thought Thatcher the Great was, and how we needed a ginger Welshman in charge.
So what's different now with all the whinging tory bias going on on here? ;)

So let's all agree to get together, and kick Tony Blair in the nuts.
So that's a resonable political comment then? Just the typical comment to expect from the losing whingeing tories supporters ;) ;)

Anyway, you haven't expressed if you want to be in that bet... or would you agree that you were very very wrong, and the Tories will come back to power at some point in the future?
And i suppose according to einsteins theory of relativity that sometime in the future the tories will come out with a sensible manifesto that will benefit the country.   ( rolls on floor laughing)

What you said, but replace "the tories" with "labour".

Problem is, everyone thinks they are "the country". You think you represent "the country's interests", I think I represent "the country's interests". We are never going to agree on this one just so long as I am being screwed by the labour government, and you think you would be screwed by a tory government. Only difference is, I KNOW I am being screwed by the current mob.

No point in discussing it, it is as constructive a debate as "what flavour crisps are best" (McCoys barbecue steak, by the way ;) ) I don't think this discussion has persuaded anyone that they should go and vote labour, nor has it convinced any labour voters that they are wrong (not that they'd admit anyway ;) )

I really can't be a**ed with this (again  !)

You lot may laugh, but Adam is right off course. One day you labour supporters will see the light and the truth.

Abraham Lincoln said it all.
"You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."
This still stands good to this day.

What I don't understand is wherever I go, who ever I speak to in difference places, I haven't met anyone that support Labour or anything that's good about them. Is it because most people can't be bother or do I need to travel further?

Probably all to frightened to admit it because of the men in white coats.

your right masona, thats because labour is into Quality not quantity.
But "Why people ever vote Conservative is a mystery. The Conservative Party has been responsible for the highest rates of real unemployment, the largest numbers of home repossessions and the highest rates of business closures of any party since 1945. No one should support them, especially in rural England where long periods of office have left
them smug and complacent. Under their new – un-elected – leader, Michael Howard, the Conservatives are – once again – promising that they will change. But they have failed to do so since their electoral meltdown in the 1997 general election. This briefing argues that
they won’t change, because they can’t". the most disturbing thing about all this is that Labour voters are "do gooders" and Tories are "do badders" so although I'm content that they won't ever get back into power there seems to be a huge number of "do badders in the country.

I don't like any politicians its a case of choosing the best of a bad lot
they are opposed to proportional representation which would allow fair votes for all.

And I am getting worried because I agree with both comments!

In all fairness richard both Lab and Tory are as undemocratic as each other on this. Wouldn't be overly bothered about changing leaders midstream though because I think they have all probably done that. Suppose it would be a waste of resourses having a General Election's every time one left or died etc.
