I was merely saying there are houses doted around that are a mixture of copper and lead.

I would have no worrys about joining copper to lead if it was only topping up a c/h system.

I know of at least one house where it comes in the property in lead, and the entire house is lead piped.

chris, thank you for your comments, you show your little experience of 'on the job plumbing', a big percentage of houses all over the country still have lead incoming mains water, using a lead to copper adaptor does not lessen the lead content from the water main to the tap,
you are correct that it is illegal, and as i say in the video and i quote "this is for demonstration purposes only", (just incase the old bill is watchin)
so now that you've seen 4 video's, have a look at more, they're free to watch and , NO there is NO PAYMENT FROM YOUTUBE,

I'm still on the tools. I've been plumbing for about 30 years, though not continuously. Knees are giving in so I do some part time teaching/assessing.

Of course it does . You need to go back to school. That's basic stuff from the first C&G I did, though anyone who's done basic chemistry would know.

"for demonstration" - ie for your own purposes, is not an excuse.
It's just as wrong, it doesn't make an iota of difference.

You're giving guidance. A sense of responsibility is normally assumed, by people who do that.

Of course there is, that's the sole reason for its existence, it's not there to get your mug on the screen. Plenty of people are making money from your vids. You need to wise-up on that, as well

you may have guessed by now that i never did chemistry at skool, and after nearly 40 years of plumbing i never need time off due to knee problems, so maybe plumbing might be too physical for you, so keep up the teaching lessons,
old codgers failing assessments thats a made up line if i ever heard one, the only people who fail assessments are the one who don't want to pass, thats why the plumbing industry is flooded with hundreds of 'plumber on paper' operatives who don't know whether its arthur or marther at the doorstep.

as for people using my vids for profit, thats beyond my control, i can do nothing about that, except take pleasure in the fact that they are good enough for others to rip off and make profit from, i make them for the benefit of others and removing would stop that from happening,

I fail some, I can assure you. You wouldn't know, you don't do it. The only young person I failed couldn't speak English well enough. Tha last person I failed was 58, and had been doing gas 25 years, "never blown anyone up".

Other people using them doesn't mean they're any good. The people who use them don't understand what's in them. They're linked on this site and others to increase traffic. Do you value computer geeks' opinions as to the content?
