Not everyone is walking around grizzling. Of course the highest group expressing 'regret' are those that weren’t even old enough to vote in the referendum - no doubt after hearing the likes of Nosey moaning and whining about it for the last 8 years while ski-ing down mountains or chucking food down his neck in the gastronomical hot spots of Europe. I’ve never heard him moan about it while he’s been posting away while out there….

I know two people in particular who voted Brexit who are so angry now that it's actually quite scary. I just try to placate them now rather than having any sort of rational discussion. They were cross about being in the EU. But since we left and the colour of most of the immigrants has changed, they have gone to a whole different level of anger entirely.

It is a sad fact that many, perhaps most of the people who voted Brexit are now a lot angrier than they were when we in the EU. And that's mainly because of immigration. Before Brexit it was mainly about too many people coming here and the pressure on services. Now, it's also about the type of people coming here.

Might have been smart to have a plan before scrapping the previous plan.
The previous non plan scrapped itself whilst torey leadership hopefuls planned their post sunak campaign, they were more concerned with votes than boats.

Everyone that voted to leave are walking around with a smile on their face and everyone that voted to remain haven’t shut up about it. 52% of the electorate are happily getting on with their day to day lives while 8 years later, 48% of them are still weeping. Can’t please all the people all the time.

A very expensive way to cheer some old b@stards then

Its inevitable that net migration in 2024 will be way lower than net migration in 2023 or 2022

From the "Build, Build, Build" thread.

On one hand, MBK says he is a multinational squillionaire, hiring very-well paid staff. So, you'd expect him, paying chunky wedge for those hires, to have done some due diligence. And accept that, on occasion, he has to account for his decisions, be they good or not-so.

On the other though, MBK prefers to take the plaudits (and the rewards) when his hires perform well, but without fear of the consequences, if they don't.
So you were lying then. Glad you admit it.

August is peak season. Record numbers arrived under the Tory scheme.
You might want to check your data - summer-23 vs summer-24 for example.

Let's not forget that the new immigration laws didn't come in to force until 2023.
