primary cause of death is always difficult to identify, the 28 day rule enables a quick and consistent method to report data.

During a covid wave, the rise up to the peak is when the 28 day rule is most accurate, it’s less accurate during the long tail of a wave.


it is just death, long covid is also an important issue, as is hospitalisation.

'data' does not necessarily equate to 'primary cause of death'...

It is a tick box exercise based on the applicable 'rules' at any given time and which were altered multiple times by decree!
