New Orleans terror attack

I have no view on it - just pointing out that for some that is the way they feel. It can go part of the way to understand the mindset of the attackers and it points out how naive it is to say oh - but they were born here.

PRESS RELEASE

22 Feb 2024

The Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) today expressed its regret at the closure of the Inter Faith Network thanks to the government’s decision to withhold funding for the interfaith network.

The decision appears to be particularly vindictive and is reflective of a preference to pursue divisive culture wars rather than cross-community harmony. The MCB has proudly been a part of the diverse and broad Inter Faith Network for many years.

Zara Mohammed, Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain said:

At a time when communities in our country should come together, there is a desperate need for independent initiatives such as the Interfaith Network who, for over 30 years have forged dialogue and cooperation between faiths.

Through their initiatives such as Inter Faith Week, grassroot communities have been able to share their faiths and commonalities. With the Inter Faith Network, we have found spaces to build bridges and forge connections.

At a time of conflict and disharmony, why would the government choose to vandalise interfaith relations? The government has said that it is cutting funding to the Inter Faith Network because of the Muslim Council of Britain’s association with the Network. It falsely states that successive governments have not engaged with MCB.

In fact, the Labour government restored relations with the organisation in 2010 and successive ministers of the coalition government, including then Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg also met the MCB.

We are sorry that the Inter Faith Network and interfaith relations generally have been the victim of an inexplicable campaign by divisive ideologues in the government to smear the Muslim Council of Britain and deny British Muslims a representative voice. No other faith group has been treated in this way.

We at the Muslim Council of Britain are a democratic and diverse Muslim body representing a cross section of British Muslim communities. We do not claim to be the only voice, and we may not always agree with government. For that reason, we have been subject to over a decade of discrimination.

We will continue to build bridges across faiths and communities in this land. While others want to close down these connections, our door is always open.”

Not very high then.

I thought you would suggest it was a very high proportion.
Nope, I have no idea, I mentioned how I have heard the phrase -- this - or these "lands" - and provided an example when asked but that wasn’t enough for some on here who were begging me to provide proof of my example proof, coming up with all kinds of crazy conspiracy theories of where my example came from -imaginary racist right wing echo chambers spreading hate ECT, when all along it was from the UK Muslim Council website, which seemed to enrage people even more.

Muslim Council of Britain. If you're going to be an arse about Britain Vs Great Britain you shouldn't be getting the UK and GB mixed up. They aren't the same thing.

(y) glad you are paying attention. I suppose MCB would be quicker but seeing as this is a DIY forum I thought it could be confusing.

Your example was text which mentioned “communities in our country……”
Which discredits your claim.

Why did you post it as a jpg image and not as text?
Why did you not provide a link?

I think it came exactly from those non imaginary right wing echo chambers.

They are dangerous places. Formenting right wing extremists. Dangerous people, right in the midst of us all.

Aveatry is an extremely dishonest person.

He posts an out of context quote, provides no link and won’t explain why it’s an image not text.

Images of section of texts are commonly used in Twitter.

Aveatry didn’t come up with this nonsense about the use of the word “land”…..he’s been reading it on some racist grifting Reform cesspit he reads.

Why should any 'inter faith network' rely in full or part on government funding? Surely if 'the faiths' want to connect, network, come together they can do this using the goffers filled by their own followers?

It can be asserted the world might be a more peaceful place if organised religion had never been invented.

Can not win on here with the totally radicalised fruitcakes. I was asked for proof - it was provided. I found it by googling it then when on the page I could not see it as it was right on the bottom so i did a simple "find in page" search for the word lands- which is why its highlighted in green. I then did a screenshot of that section. I couldn’t do a screen shot of the whole page as its too big. If I had copied and pasted the section as text only I would of been accused of writing it myself. If I had copied and pasted as text the whole lot than that would be too big - espicually as the relevant section was right at the bottom so I thought the best option was to do a screenshot of that section. Look at the jpeg name, when I do a screen shot the default save name is "capture" so i just randomly tap something else in and save that or delete a few letters - look at the name of the jpeg - its ure - the last bit of capture ! if I got it off the web somewhere then it would have the name the original poster gave it, go and look at my past images and see the names. I did not post the direct link because I am not responding to vitriol and demands by people lashing out with.---Aveatry is a dirty little liar, dishonest person, racist grifting Reform voting cesspit, right wing echo chambers, desperate to post racist smears but are too cowardly to be open about it, Muslim hatred, conspiracy.
If you think I got the notion from somewhere else that I have read it then find it and post it here.

You somehow conveniently avoided verifying the important bit, i.e....
When people say oh but they were born here, they fail to realise is that for those muslims their first allegiance is to islam and they do not recognise countries. Listen to how some speak - they only ever mention "lands" and its these "lands" that are there to be turned into muslim lands.
I've asked you several times about this snippet but you refuse to acknowledge your own quote. The fact that you have found a phrase with the word land in it is irrelevant.

And not once have you ever criticised right wing extremists

But an innocent mention of land taken out of context provides you with incorrect ammunition against muslims.
