A great place open up! most of us don't know each other, we are on on here for different reasons, we are all very different people. And look at those of us who want to help.

For me its heart warming to see so many caring people who I'd normally disagree with on another subject.

Stress

we had a customer whos stop cock did not work so needed a new one

out side stop cock could not be located so the water board were called in

some while later we had an email from the lady whinging due to not being able to locate her stop cock . apparently it caused her a great amount of stress

I wrote a sympathetic response

explaining that during that time one of our fellas had had to rush his 4 year old daughter to hospital twice in one week in the early hours due to severe breathing difficulties

so I fully under stood the stress that was caused to her over a stop cock

I had a callout the other night. He lived in a flat with uncontrollable water that was leaking to the flat down stairs. I told him my emergency callout rates (7 30pm). And that was to make safe and advise. Leaving the customer with drinking water is must.

My mate attended. I told my mate who isn't experienced in call out work... To make safe and only fix if its an easy fix.

I called my mate 2 hours later and he was still there. He said I tried to fix but it needs new parts. I Told you to make safe explain to the customer book a time tomorrow and replace parts at a cheaper rate.

He said "he has children I was just trying to do the right thing" (because he's a good man).

Explain and get home. I said

The Customer phoned up 7 30 next morning complaining that my mate took 2 hours and never fixed the problem. I don't want him back.

He's still not paid for the call out.

To be fair, if I was a regular on here, and perhaps needing help in this way, I don't think I'd want to do that under my normal user name perhaps? It's not like it can be the friendliest of places at times!

you dont have to leave here, MODS usually get upset by aliases, but theyve been understanding.

It seems youve had some run ins with another poster on here and feel badly treated -just bear in mind the people who moderate do so for free, its hard to make judgements, just let it go over your head. I cant count how many times Ive seen people arguing "the Mods" are biased against them, its never true really.

I thought of that a few years before I stopped working, they wanted you to have a teaching degree, they couldn't care less if you didn't know the subject as long as you had teaching qualifications.
